The LILY 1190 beacon by Faro is designed to illuminate gardens, patios and outdoor areas where the visual presence of the luminaire matters as much as the light it produces. With almost 1.2 metres in height and a matte black finish, the lantern blends into the surroundings without drawing attention to itself. At night, the structure seems to disappear and what remains is only the effect of light on the plants, the ground or the pathways.

It is a ground beacon, which means it is installed directly in the garden or patio, without the need to fix it to a wall or ceiling. The integrated LED spotlight works at 2700K, a warm colour temperature that enhances the natural appearance of vegetation and does not produce the cold tone that can sometimes seem too artificial outdoors.

Installation and specifications

For installation, it is worth noting that this luminaire operates at 24V DC, so it requires a compatible transformer or power supply, which is not included. It is recommended that outdoor electrical installation be carried out by a qualified electrician, especially if it is a new installation or cables are to be buried. The IP65 protection rating ensures that the unit withstands rain and humidity, but care must be taken to ensure that the connections are also properly protected.

To keep the lantern in good condition, simply clean it occasionally with a damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could damage the stainless steel finish. The glass diffuser can be cleaned with water and a little neutral soap. It does not need to be disassembled frequently.

Design and use

The design of the LILY 1190 beacon starts from a clear idea: that the lamp should not be the centre of attention. In many garden installations, the spotlight or lantern ends up being too visible during the day, which disrupts the aesthetics of the space. In this case, the narrow stainless steel body in black goes almost unnoticed among the plants or alongside garden pathways. When night falls and the spotlight turns on, the effect perceived is that of vegetation illuminated from below, not that of a lamp standing out in the surroundings.

The body is made of stainless steel, a material that withstands outdoor conditions well without requiring special maintenance. It does not rust in the rain nor deteriorate with the temperature changes typical of temperate climates. The black finish gives it a clean and discreet look that pairs well with both contemporary design gardens and simpler patios.

The diffuser is made of transparent glass, which allows the LED spotlight to emit light in a direct and concentrated manner. This is useful when you want to highlight a specific element: a plant, a wall texture, a tree, or simply mark the route of a path. The colour temperature of 2700K produces a warm light, similar to that of a candle or an incandescent bulb, which is pleasant in night-time outdoor settings and does not distort the colours of the plants.

Regarding the light output, the 3W power is sufficient to create a decorative and ambient lighting effect. It is not designed to illuminate large surfaces, but rather to generate points of light that visually structure the garden or patio. Combined with other beacons of the same type, or with longer-range spotlights, it can form part of a complete outdoor lighting scheme.

The height of 1190 mm places it above most low plants and shrubs, allowing it to project light downwards without vegetation blocking it. It can also be placed on a terrace or at the entrances of a home to mark the access path. On a pergola or at the boundaries of a patio, it acts as an element that defines the space without the need to install larger or more striking lanterns.

Does this beacon need an external transformer to operate?

Yes. The LILY 1190 operates at 24V DC, so it requires a compatible power supply or transformer to convert the mains voltage. This component is not included and must be purchased separately or be part of the existing electrical installation.

Is the IP65 rating sufficient to leave it installed outdoors all year round?

IP65 protects against dust and against water jets from any direction, which perfectly covers rain and the usual humidity in gardens and patios. It is a suitable rating for permanent outdoor installation in temperate climates.

Is the LED light source included or does it need to be purchased separately?

It is included. The 3W COB LED is already integrated into the beacon, so there is no need to purchase any additional bulb to start using it.
