Overview

CUCA 300 is an outdoor spike light designed to illuminate gardens, terraces and patios with a clean, unadorned aesthetic. It is placed directly in the ground and marks paths, garden borders or walkways without drawing attention to itself. The structure visually disappears at night, and what remains is only the point of light.

It is a luminaire designed for those who seek a tidy and discreet result. There are no visible cables, no ornate shapes. The light becomes integrated into the space as if it had always been there.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in lighting. Its outdoor products combine aesthetic sensibility with materials prepared for continuous outdoor use.

Installation and specifications

To correctly install this outdoor spike light, it is necessary to prepare the anchor point in the ground in advance. As it is a ground-mounted luminaire, it is advisable to plan the cable routing before finishing the paving or landscaped area. The supply voltage is 220V–240V, so the electrical installation must be carried out by a qualified professional. It is recommended to verify that the connection point complies with safety regulations for outdoor installations.

To keep the light in good condition, simply clean the stainless steel body with a damp cloth and no abrasive products. The opal glass diffuser may accumulate dust or dirt over time; it can be cleaned with water and a soft cloth. Aggressive chemical products that could damage the black finish of the body should not be used.

Design and use

CUCA 300 has a stainless steel structure with a black finish that integrates effortlessly into any contemporary-style garden, patio or terrace. The silhouette is narrow and vertical, with a height of 300 mm that keeps it close to the ground. This way, attention is not drawn to the fixture itself, but to what it illuminates.

The opal glass diffuser distributes light in a uniform and soft manner. The colour temperature of 2700K creates a warm atmosphere, similar to that of traditional incandescent lighting. This makes the outdoor space look welcoming without appearing artificial. The light includes a 3W COB LED source, factory-installed and ready to use.

One of the most striking features of this spike light is what happens when night falls. The black steel structure blends into the dark surroundings, and what remains visible is only the point of light. That sensation of lights floating over the garden with no visible support is difficult to achieve with other models. Most outdoor spike lights have bodies that stand out even at night. Here, the opposite happens.

In terms of use, this spike is particularly suitable for marking access paths, bordering lawn or planted areas, or indicating steps in private gardens. It also works well on terraces with wooden or stone flooring, where the black steel connects naturally with natural materials. In more austere design patios, this spike light adds presence without breaking the overall visual line.

The fixture is designed for permanent installations. It is not a rechargeable or wireless model, but a luminaire connected to the home electrical network. This ensures continuous operation without the need to check batteries or recharge the device. The cabling remains hidden underground, so the final result is completely clean.

CUCA 300 can be combined with other outdoor pieces from the same line to create a uniform row of lights. Several fixtures placed in parallel along a path generate a coherent and orderly visual effect. It can also be mixed with wall projectors or overhead pergola lighting to complete the outdoor ambiance at night.

Stainless steel is a common material in outdoor lighting precisely because it withstands temperature variations and exposure to humidity well. The black finish, furthermore, does not show dust as easily as lighter finishes, which simplifies maintenance.

This luminaire fits well in gardens with ordered vegetation, but also in more open spaces with gravel or stone. The key is that it does not impose any particular style. It simply exists, works, and illuminates without seeking the spotlight.

Questions and answers

Is the COB LED light source included in the fixture or does it need to be purchased separately?

Yes, the 3W COB LED source is included from the factory. It is not necessary to purchase any additional bulb before installation.

Does this outdoor spike light operate at 12V or at another voltage?

The supply voltage is 220V–240V, which is the standard domestic electrical network in Spain and most of Europe. It does not require an additional transformer, but does require connection to the home electrical installation.

Can the opal glass diffuser of the fixture break if an object falls on it?

The diffuser is made of glass, so it can be damaged by direct impacts. It is recommended to install the spike in areas where there is no risk of frequent knocks. In case of breakage, it is advisable to contact the supplier to enquire about the availability of replacement parts.
