Overview

BEZEL is an outdoor aluminum stake designed to illuminate paths, driveways, and outdoor walkways. It is driven directly into the ground and emits a warm light that guides without glaring. It is a practical solution for those who want to mark a route in the garden, patio, or house entrance without installing complex electrical infrastructure.

Its shape is simple: a cylindrical body 40 mm in diameter and 600 mm in height, finished in matte black. It has no unnecessary decorative elements. This sobriety is precisely what allows it to integrate into very different environments, from a garden with dense vegetation to a contemporary design terrace.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in lighting. Their outdoor products combine solid technical criteria with a design that does not seek to draw attention to itself, but rather to function well within the overall setting.

Installation and specifications

Preparation and installation. As this is a ground-mounted luminaire, installation requires preparing the electrical connection point before driving in the stake. It is recommended that the wiring be buried and protected using underground conduit. The connection must be made by a qualified electrician. Check that the installation point does not coincide with areas of direct irrigation or water accumulation. The COB LED light source is not included, so you will need to purchase it separately before putting the lamp into operation.

Use and maintenance. Clean the aluminum body with a damp cloth and, if necessary, with a neutral detergent. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could damage the matte black finish. The transparent glass diffuser may accumulate dirt over time; clean it with a soft cloth to maintain light quality. The IP65 protection guarantees resistance to dust and rain, but does not imply that the luminaire can be submerged in water.

Design and use

The BEZEL stake by FARO addresses a very specific need: marking an outdoor path without adding elements that visually compete with the surroundings. Its height of 600 mm places it at ground level so that light is projected downward and to the sides, illuminating the walkway without creating annoying reflections toward the eyes.

The body is made of aluminum, a material that combines lightness with strength. Outdoors, aluminum withstands temperature changes, humidity, and prolonged exposure to the elements. The matte black finish is not just an aesthetic choice; it also reduces the visibility of surface dirt and avoids reflections when sunlight hits the luminaire directly during the day.

The diffuser is made of transparent glass, which allows the warm 2700K light to emerge cleanly and clearly. This color temperature, close to that of a candle or a traditional incandescent bulb, creates a relaxed atmosphere that is especially suitable for the garden at night. It is not a working light, but a light that sets the mood and provides orientation.

The COB LED technology used by this spotlight concentrates the diodes on a small surface, producing a more uniform and stable light. With a maximum power of 8W, consumption is low without implying insufficient illumination for its function as a path marker.

In the garden, these markers work especially well when placed on both sides of a path, with a regular spacing between them. The visual effect is tidy and elegant. On a terrace, one or two units can mark the boundary of a walkway without the need to install more powerful spotlights. In the patio, they serve to define perimeters or mark steps.

The matte black color allows outdoor lights like BEZEL to integrate with materials such as dark wood, concrete, natural stone, or steel. It does not clash with environments of sober design, nor does it look out of place in gardens with denser, more organic vegetation. Larger lanterns or projectors can complement these markers when more light coverage is needed in wide areas.

The IP65 protection makes this outdoor lantern suitable for installations in areas exposed to direct rain. It requires no additional protection or cover. It is a luminaire designed to remain outdoors all year round, with no need to remove it during rainy or cold periods.

Questions and answers

Does the BEZEL stake include the COB LED bulb, or does it need to be purchased separately?

The light source is not included. You will need to purchase a COB LED bulb compatible with the lamp's parameters before installing it. Refer to the maximum power (8W) and voltage (220V–240V) specifications to choose the correct one.

What level of protection does IP65 offer against outdoor conditions?

The IP65 rating indicates that the lantern is completely protected against dust and resistant to water jets from any direction. This makes it suitable for outdoor installations exposed to direct rain, although it is not designed to be submerged in water.

Can the aluminum body deteriorate over time when used outdoors?

Aluminum is a material with good resistance to corrosion and weather conditions. With basic maintenance — periodic cleaning with a damp cloth — the body of this outdoor luminaire maintains its appearance and functionality for years.
