Overview

The FARO recessed wall light is an outdoor luminaire designed to illuminate gardens, terraces, facades and entrances with warm, uniform light. It installs directly into the wall and integrates flush with the surface, without protruding or taking up space. It is a clean and discreet solution for marking paths, stairs or passageways in outdoor spaces.

This wall light features an aluminium housing with a matte white finish and a transparent glass diffuser. The combination of materials provides solidity without adding excessive weight. Thanks to its IP65 rating, the luminaire withstands direct exposure to rain and dust, making it suitable for outdoor use in any typical weather condition.

The SMD LED light source is already included. There is no need to purchase anything additional to get it up and running. The 3000K colour temperature produces a warm white light, similar to that of a traditional lamp, which is pleasant to the eye and does not cause glare.

FARO is a Spanish brand with a long track record in residential and contract lighting. Its products combine careful design with quality materials, built to last under real-world usage conditions.

Installation and specifications

Preparation and installation: before installing the wall light, make sure the exterior wall has a suitable recessed back box and that the wiring is prepared with the correct voltage. The fixture is mounted directly onto the vertical surface. It is recommended that installation be carried out by a qualified electrician, especially in outdoor installations where the overall seal is important to ensure IP65 protection. Check that all seals and gaskets are correctly adjusted after assembly.

Use and care: the aluminium surface can be cleaned with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that may damage the matte white finish. The diffuser glass is cleaned in the same way. Do not handle the luminaire with the power connected. In garden areas with nearby vegetation, periodically check that there is no accumulation of dirt or moisture around the wall light.

Design and use

The FARO recessed outdoor wall light addresses a very specific need: illuminating a precise point in the garden, entrance, stairway or wall with accuracy, without the luminaire becoming the visual focal point. The emphasis falls on the illuminated space, not on the fixture.

The aluminium body provides resistance against temperature changes and the humidity typical of outdoor environments. It does not corrode easily and maintains the matte white finish in good condition for a long time. The compact dimensions, 239 mm in length and 73 mm in height, allow it to be integrated into walls of different thicknesses and styles without looking disproportionate.

The transparent glass diffuser distributes light directly, without filtering or dispersing it excessively. This is useful when the goal is to clearly illuminate a defined area, such as a garden path or the steps leading to a terrace. The warm white light at 3000K creates a welcoming atmosphere without the coldness of higher colour temperatures.

The integrated SMD LED technology consumes only 4.5 W. For an outdoor recessed fixture intended for marking purposes, that power level is sufficient and keeps consumption low even when the luminaire operates for several hours a day. The light source is already included, so the wall light is ready to install from the outset.

The IP65 rating is one of the most relevant aspects of this luminaire. The first digit, 6, indicates total protection against dust. The second, 5, guarantees protection against water jets from any direction. This means the wall light can be installed on exposed facades, in uncovered garden areas or on terraces where rain can reach directly. No additional protection is required.

Regarding design, the matte white finish has a neutral presence that adapts well to light-coloured facades, painted concrete walls or modern cladding. It does not stand out excessively during the day and, at night, the effect of the light on the wall creates clean and effective visual marking.

This wall light can be combined with other garden lighting elements to create a balanced distribution of light outdoors. Several recessed fixtures distributed along a path or stairway provide continuous marking without the need to install a lantern or floor-standing luminaire. At entrances or access points with a motion sensor integrated into the electrical system, this wall light can be connected so that it only operates when presence is detected, reducing consumption and making better use of the installation.

The low weight of 0.63 kg makes transport and handling easy during installation. Despite its lightness, the aluminium construction ensures the wall light withstands outdoor conditions well over time.

Questions and answers

Does the recessed wall light include the LED light source or does it need to be purchased separately?

The SMD LED light source is already included with the wall light. No additional components need to be purchased for it to function.

What level of protection does the IP65 rating of this luminaire offer against heavy rain?

The IP65 rating guarantees total protection against dust and resistance to water jets from any direction. The wall light can be installed in outdoor locations directly exposed to rain without the need for additional protection.

Is this wall luminaire compatible with external motion sensor systems?

The wall light operates between 100V and 240V and can be integrated into electrical installations that include an external motion sensor in the circuit. The recessed fixture itself does not incorporate a sensor, but it supports use within a system that includes one.
