Overview

The FARO recessed wall light is designed for outdoor spaces where discreet and functional lighting is needed. Gardens, terraces, entrances, facades — any area where light serves a guiding role without drawing too much attention. It is installed directly into the wall and sits flush with the surface, making it a visually clean and tidy option.

The 3W SMD LED technology provides warm light at 3000K, which means the environment is not bathed in cold white, but in a tone closer to the natural light of sunset. This makes the garden or entrance feel welcoming at night, without the clinical feel that some outdoor lights give off.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in lighting. Their products are designed to last and to adapt to different environments, both indoors and outdoors.

Installation and specifications

For installation, it is necessary to cut a recess in the wall with the appropriate dimensions to house the included recessed box. Since the light is fixed to an exterior wall, it is recommended that installation be carried out by a qualified electrician. Make sure to cut the power before handling any connections. The operating voltage range is wide, from 100V to 240V, making it compatible with the standard electrical grid. The included driver simplifies the process and eliminates the need to purchase additional components.

Regarding use and maintenance, the aluminium body can be cleaned with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Avoid using abrasive products or solvents that could damage the dark grey finish. The opal PC diffuser is durable, but avoid rubbing it with hard materials to preserve its uniform finish. With IP65 protection, the recessed light resists rain and dust ingress, but it should not be submerged or exposed to direct pressurised water jets.

Design and use

The FARO recessed wall light has a compact profile — 140 x 140 mm visible face and 75 mm depth — allowing it to integrate effortlessly into walls of different materials. Stone, concrete, exposed brick or modern cladding: the dark grey finish adapts well to neutral surfaces and also contrasts in a balanced way with lighter tones.

The body is made of aluminium, a material that combines strength with low weight. The light does not place any significant load on the wall where it is installed. In addition, aluminium does not rust like iron, which is especially relevant in outdoor settings where moisture is constantly present. Facades, gardens and terraces are environments that demand materials that hold up without visually deteriorating over time.

The polycarbonate opal diffuser distributes light evenly. It does not create bright spots or shadow areas in the projection zone, which is useful when the light serves a signalling or guiding function. On a garden path, for example, it helps mark the route without causing glare. At an entrance or access point, it indicates the space without creating harsh contrasts between light and darkness.

The 3000K colour temperature produces warm light that feels natural in outdoor nighttime settings. It does not alter the colours of the surroundings in an aggressive way. Plants, vegetation, facade materials and patio surfaces retain an appearance close to natural under that tone of light. This makes a difference compared to cooler temperature options, which can make a garden or wall look like a work area rather than a relaxation zone.

The recessed light includes both the recessed box and the driver, meaning no additional parts need to be sourced for installation. Everything comes ready to work from the start. This simplifies the purchase and reduces the margin of error when choosing compatible components.

The IP65 protection ensures that neither rain nor dust particles will affect the performance of the light. It is a suitable rating for outdoor use in climates with regular rainfall. A garden or terrace in an area with rainy winters presents no problem for this luminaire.

The universal voltage of 100V to 240V makes it compatible with electrical installations in different countries, without the need for adapters or converters. The SMD LED light source is included and does not require frequent replacement, as this type of technology has a significantly longer lifespan than conventional light sources.

Questions and answers

Does the light include the recessed box or does it need to be purchased separately?

The recessed box is included along with the driver. No additional components need to be purchased for installation.

Is the IP65 protection rating sufficient for areas exposed to direct rain?

Yes. The IP65 rating indicates that the recessed light is protected against dust ingress and against water jets from any direction. It is suitable for outdoor installation with direct exposure to rain.

Can the aluminium body be installed in a stone wall without mounting issues?

Yes. The included recessed box adapts to different types of wall. On stone surfaces or hard materials, it is recommended that installation be carried out by a professional to ensure a proper fit.
