Overview

This recessed wall light from FARO is designed to be installed on walls and provide exterior lighting in gardens, terraces, entrances, and facades. Its main function is wayfinding: marking a path, delimiting an area, or indicating an access point in a discreet way without elements that protrude too much.

The body is compact, made of aluminum with a dark grey finish. The transparent polycarbonate diffuser lets light through without distortion. The SMD LED light source at 3000K offers a warm tone that is not harsh in nighttime outdoor settings. The driver is included, so there is no need to look for additional components.

FARO is a brand with a track record in technical and decorative lighting. Its outdoor products are designed for environments where the light fitting needs to work well for years without frequent maintenance.

Installation and specifications

Before installing this wall light, make sure the surface where it will be recessed is thick enough to accommodate the junction box. The wiring must be completely hidden inside the wall. The connection to 220V–240V must be carried out by a qualified electrician. Installation with the power connected is not recommended.

The polycarbonate diffuser can be cleaned with a damp cloth and mild soap. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that may damage the surface. The aluminum body requires no special treatment, but it is advisable to inspect it periodically to detect any possible accumulation of dirt in the diffuser slot.

Design and use

The FARO recessed wall light has a very contained profile: 94 mm high, 94 mm long, and just 57 mm deep. On the wall it sits almost flush, with no elements that protrude or draw too much individual attention. That discretion is precisely what makes it useful in outdoor spaces where the overall design matters as much as the function of the light.

The dark grey aluminum body integrates well into facades with neutral tones, stone walls, or concrete finishes. It is not a decorative wall light in the classic sense, but it does not clash in environments with a defined aesthetic approach either. In gardens with dense vegetation, for example, the dark grey of the body goes unnoticed during the day and fulfills its function at night without becoming the visual focal point of the space.

The SMD LED light source at 3000K generates a warm white. Outdoors, this tone avoids the cold feeling that pure white light sometimes produces, and helps natural materials such as wood, stone, or earth retain their true appearance. It does not alter the colors of the surroundings abruptly.

The transparent polycarbonate diffuser does not filter or diffuse the light significantly, which allows the 3W of power to be used effectively to mark a path or indicate a walkway area. On a terrace with several wall lights distributed at regular intervals along the wall, the result is continuous, legible lighting that guides without glaring.

The sensor is not part of this luminaire's equipment. For those who need automatic motion control, this wall light would need to be combined with an external system. Even so, many garden or patio installations prefer fixed low-consumption light that stays on all night, and for that use this spotlight fits in without complications.

The included driver simplifies installation: there is no need to calculate compatibility or purchase components separately. The connection to the 220V–240V mains is direct. In facade or entrance wayfinding installations, where several light points are placed in parallel, this makes the work much easier.

The weight of 0.2 kg makes the wall light easy to handle during installation. On the wall, once recessed, it generates no significant structural load. A standard junction box serves as the base for the installation, and the final finish is clean, with no visible frames or elements that break the continuity of the surface.

In private patios and gardens, this type of luminaire is commonly used to mark the boundaries of a paved area, indicate steps, or signal the route to an entrance. In larger-scale projects, such as residential developments or common areas, the combination of several wall lights along a path creates functional and orderly lighting.

Questions and answers

Is the driver for the SMD LED light source included in the product or does it need to be purchased separately?

The driver is included. You do not need to purchase any additional components for the electrical connection of the wall light.

What dimensions does the wall recess need to be to install this luminaire?

The wall light body measures 94 x 94 mm with a depth of 57 mm. The recess in the wall must match those measurements so that the finish sits flush with the surface.

Is the 3000K color temperature suitable for use in a nighttime garden?

Yes. The 3000K produces a warm white that is pleasant in nighttime outdoor settings and does not abruptly alter the perception of the natural materials in the surroundings.
