Overview

The GRUND BAÑADOR by FARO is an outdoor recessed spotlight designed to be installed in the ground. Its main function is to project light onto a vertical surface — a facade, a garden wall, or an architectural element — creating a wall-washing effect that defines volumes and adds depth to the space.

It operates at 24V DC and emits warm neutral light at 2700K, a temperature that is pleasant to the eye and integrates well with materials such as stone, wood, or brick. The black anodized finish gives it a discreet profile: once installed in the floor, it is barely visible during the day, but fulfills its function as soon as night falls.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in lighting. Its outdoor catalog combines design criteria with real outdoor usage conditions, from private patios to larger lighting projects.

Installation and specifications

To install this recessed ground spotlight, it is necessary to prepare a suitable junction box matching its dimensions before paving or during the construction phase. As this is a 24V DC product, it requires a transformer or power supply compatible with that voltage, which must be installed in an accessible and protected location. The wiring must run through a corrugated conduit buried underground to the connection point. It is recommended that the electrical installation be carried out by a qualified professional, especially in outdoor areas where humidity or rain conditions are common.

For maintenance, simply clean the glass surface and aluminum body with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that may damage the black anodized finish. Do not handle the interior of the spotlight without first disconnecting the power supply.

Design and use

The GRUND BAÑADOR is a recessed floor spotlight designed for outdoor lighting. Its body is made of aluminum with a black anodized finish, a material that tolerates temperature variations and exposure to the environment well. The transparent glass diffuser lets light through without altering its tone, maintaining the warmth of the 2700K emitted by the integrated LED module.

As it is designed to be installed in the floor, this spotlight sits flush with the ground. From that position, the light beam rises toward the wall or the element to be highlighted. This type of grazing illumination is especially effective on textured facades: the light skims the surface and makes the relief of the material more visible. On a stone or brick wall, the result can be quite striking even with a single well-placed lamp.

In a garden, these spotlights can be used to mark the perimeter of a walkway, to illuminate the side walls of a patio, or to highlight vegetation elements that are close to a wall. The terrace is also a good space for this type of recessed fixture: installed in the floor next to a low wall or a planter, it creates ambient lighting that requires no overhead light point.

The exterior facade of the home is another common context. A floor spotlight placed at the base of the wall can reinforce the sense of solidity of the building at night, especially if the facade has a finish worth highlighting. It is not the only function, but it is one of the most valued in residential outdoor lighting projects.

By operating at 24V DC, the GRUND BAÑADOR requires an external power supply. This makes it safer in floor installations, where accidental contact with water is more likely. In a patio with irrigation or in an area close to a swimming pool, working with low voltage is a real advantage.

The color temperature of 2700K places this spotlight within the warm-neutral range. It is not as yellow as 2200K sources, but it also lacks the coolness of neutral white. That middle point works well with a wide variety of materials and finishes, both in modern settings and in more classic-style gardens.

The LED module is already included, so there is no need to purchase an additional bulb. The compact body, with a total diameter of 92 mm, makes installation easy even in tight spaces. The facade, garden, terrace, or patio are spaces where this type of recessed fixture performs its function well without requiring complex infrastructure.

Questions and answers

Does this recessed spotlight work directly with the domestic 220V electrical network?

No. The GRUND BAÑADOR operates at 24V DC, so it requires a power supply or transformer that converts the mains voltage to 24V. This component must be installed separately, in a location protected from the elements.

Can the included LED module be replaced if it breaks?

The spotlight has an integrated LED module that is not intended to be replaced by the end user. In the event of failure, the most appropriate course of action is to contact technical support or review the product warranty conditions.

What is the color temperature of this spotlight and for what type of environment is it most suitable?

It emits light at 2700K, a warm-neutral tone that adapts well to outdoor settings with natural materials such as stone, wood, or brick, whether in a garden, facade, or patio.
