Overview

The GRUND BAÑADOR by FARO is an outdoor recessed spotlight designed to be installed in the ground. Its black anodized finish and aluminum construction make it suitable for projects where both performance and durability are required. It works with warm light at 2700K, which gives outdoor spaces a calm and well-defined atmosphere.

It is an option designed for gardens, terraces, patios, or facades. It operates on 24V DC, making it a common choice in installations that require low voltage. The LED module is included, so there is no need to look for an additional light source. The luminaire is ready to be integrated into the ground without standing out visually during the day, and fulfills its function with clarity at night.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in lighting. It develops products for both indoor and outdoor use, with attention to finish and the integration of spotlights into the environment where they are installed.

Installation and specifications

Before installing this recessed floor spotlight, it is advisable to prepare the recess carefully. As this is a recessed luminaire with floor mounting, the cutout must be made to the exact dimensions indicated by the manufacturer. The wiring must be protected and access to the connection must be possible without lifting the entire luminaire. When working with 24V DC, the installation requires a suitable transformer or power supply that is not part of the product. It is recommended that the installation be carried out by a qualified professional.

For maintenance, simply clean the surface of the spotlight with a slightly damp cloth. Abrasive products or solvents that could damage the anodized aluminum finish should not be used. The transparent glass diffuser may accumulate dust or dirt with outdoor use. Periodic cleaning maintains the quality of the light and keeps the product in good condition.

Design and use

The GRUND BAÑADOR is an outdoor recessed spotlight with an aluminum body and transparent glass diffuser. Its compact format, with a diameter of 92 mm and a height of 92 mm, makes it easy to integrate into the ground without taking up too much visual space. The black anodized finish protects the aluminum from oxidation and gives it a discreet presence on the floor, both day and night.

This type of luminaire is frequently used to mark paths in the garden, define the edges of a terrace, or create lines of light along a facade. Recessed into the ground, the spotlight illuminates upward or at an angle, allowing it to wash vertical surfaces, highlight vegetation, or add volume to architectural elements. The result is lighting that does not disturb the eye but clearly defines the space.

The color temperature of 2700K produces warm light. In a patio or garden, that tone provides continuity with the interior lighting of the home and creates a uniform atmosphere as night falls. It is especially useful when the terrace or garden is used as an extension of the living room during the evening hours.

By operating on 24V DC, this recessed spotlight is compatible with low-voltage lighting systems. This type of installation is common in projects where greater electrical safety is sought or where a low-voltage network for other outdoor spotlights already exists. The power of 13W is sufficient to illuminate nearby surfaces efficiently.

The integrated LED module eliminates the need to find a compatible lamp separately. The light source is part of the luminaire from the very beginning, and its performance is adjusted to outdoor use conditions. The aluminum body dissipates the heat generated by the LED, which helps to keep the module in stable conditions over time.

In terms of integration with the surroundings, the black spotlight works well with dark pavements, treated wood, or natural stone. It also contrasts cleanly with light-colored surfaces without being excessive. On an outdoor staircase it can be used to mark each step from the ground, combining functionality and aesthetics without resorting to elements that protrude from the floor level.

Questions and answers

Does this recessed spotlight work directly with the domestic 230V electrical mains?

No. The GRUND BAÑADOR operates on 24V DC, so it requires an external transformer or power supply to adapt the mains voltage. This component is not included in the product and must be purchased separately or be part of the existing installation.

Can the LED module be replaced if it stops working?

The luminaire includes the factory-integrated LED module. For any queries regarding replacement or issues with the light source, we recommend contacting our customer service.

Does the transparent glass diffuser affect the direction of the light?

The diffuser allows light to pass through without filtering or dispersing it significantly, which allows the spotlight to project the beam with precision. It is suitable for illuminating specific surfaces in the garden, facade, or patio without unnecessary dispersion.
