Overview

The GRUND BAÑADOR by FARO is an outdoor recessed fixture designed to illuminate large surfaces with a warm neutral light of 3000K. It is installed in the ground and emits a higher intensity beam upward, allowing it to wash facades, walls or vegetation with uniform and continuous illumination. It is a solution designed for those who want to integrate light into the ground of a garden, terrace or patio without the luminaire being visible during the day.

Its body is made of brushed stainless steel and the diffuser is of transparent glass, giving it a discreet presence and genuine durability in outdoor conditions. Being recessed into the floor, it does not interfere with foot traffic or the overall appearance of the space.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in technical and decorative lighting. Its outdoor products are developed to withstand continuous use in various climatic conditions, maintaining a careful finish and stable performance.

Installation and specifications

To install this recessed floor fixture, it is necessary to prepare a suitable cavity with the indicated dimensions. When working with 24V DC voltage, a compatible external transformer is required, which is not included. It is recommended that the electrical installation be carried out by a qualified professional, especially outdoors where humidity and ground conditions may affect the safety of the assembly. Before recessing the spotlight, verify that the wiring is properly protected and that the frame is flush with the floor surface.

For the care of the recessed fixture, clean the glass and stainless steel body with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive or chlorine-based products, as they may affect the brushed finish. Do not disassemble the LED module or handle the internal electronics without first disconnecting the power supply.

Design and use

The GRUND BAÑADOR is an outdoor recessed spotlight with a design fully integrated into the ground. Its circular shape of 80 mm in diameter allows it to be installed in stone, concrete, treated wood or any outdoor paving surface without standing out visually during daylight hours. When night falls, the lamp projects a beam of light upward at a temperature of 3000K, producing a warm neutral tone, ideal for enhancing wall textures, vegetation or architectural elements of a facade.

The body of the recessed fixture is made of stainless steel with a brushed finish. It is a material that withstands prolonged outdoor exposure well, without rusting or losing its appearance over time. The transparent glass diffuser allows the light to emerge clean and direct, without losing intensity or generating unwanted reflections in the immediate surroundings.

This spotlight operates at 24V DC, making it a safe option for installations in areas with frequent human access, such as a family garden, a hospitality terrace or the main entrance of a home. Being low voltage, the risk associated with accidental contact is considerably lower than with conventional voltages.

The LED module is included and has a power of 7W. For a compact floor recessed fixture, it offers higher intensity illumination that allows it to cover large surfaces. This makes it useful both for illuminating a section of patio or outdoor corridor and for creating upward light effects on walls or large plants in a garden.

In terms of its integration into the space, the GRUND BAÑADOR works well when combined with other outdoor luminaires from the same system. It can be installed in a line along a garden path, along the edges of a terrace or flanking the entrance to a facade. With its neutral brushed stainless steel finish, it does not clash with materials such as natural stone, polished concrete, wood or metallic cladding.

The illumination generated by this recessed fixture is not diffuse or general, but concentrated and directed. This allows it to be used as an accent element within a broader outdoor lighting project, where other light points handle circulation lighting and this spotlight provides contrast and visual volume. In a patio or garden, this type of combination produces balanced results, without overexposed areas or completely dark backgrounds.

The weight of 0.7 kg and its compact size facilitate transport and handling during installation. It is a recessed fixture designed for careful installations, where every detail of the floor and wall plays a role in the final result of the outdoor space.

Questions and answers

Does this floor recessed fixture need an external transformer to operate at 24V DC?

Yes. The spotlight operates at 24V DC, so it requires a compatible external transformer. This component is not included with the product and must be purchased separately according to the installation requirements.

Is the LED module included or does it need to be purchased separately?

The 7W LED module is already built into the recessed fixture. No additional light source needs to be purchased to put the lamp into operation.

Does the brushed stainless steel body withstand direct installation in an outdoor floor?

Stainless steel is a suitable material for outdoor use, as it does not rust with ground moisture or lose its finish when exposed to the elements. For greater durability, a correct installation with the frame properly flush and the wiring protected is recommended.
