Overview

The RUSH lamp by FARO is a surface-mounted luminaire designed for outdoor installations. It is fixed directly onto the wall — wall-mounted — and provides light directed toward the ground or toward the area to be illuminated. It is a solid option for gardens, entrances, patios and terraces where functional lighting is needed without fragile elements or complicated mounting.

The RUSH lantern is made of aluminum and transparent polycarbonate. These materials hold up well under outdoor use conditions: temperature changes, rain, accidental impacts. The IP65 certification indicates that the lamp is protected against water and solid particles, making it suitable for installation in exposed areas. The IK10 impact resistance adds an extra layer of protection against direct impacts.

The color temperature is 4000K. It is a neutral white light that appears clear and uniform, neither leaning toward yellow nor cold. It works well in environments where real visibility is needed, not just ambiance.

FARO is a Spanish company with decades of experience in luminaire design and manufacturing. The RUSH collection is part of their technical outdoor line, designed for installations that require consistent performance under demanding conditions.

Installation and specifications

For installation, the wall on which it is mounted must have access to pre-prepared electrical wiring. Before starting, make sure to cut the power at the electrical panel. The lantern is fixed directly to the vertical surface using the corresponding anchors. Since this is an outdoor luminaire, it is advisable to seal the cable entry point well to prevent leaks. If you have doubts about the installation process, the most recommended option is to hire an electrician.

For maintenance, simply clean the outer surface with a damp cloth and, if necessary, a little neutral detergent. Abrasive products or solvents that could damage the finish or the polycarbonate should not be used. Although the lamp has IP65 protection, it is advisable to periodically check that the seals and gaskets are in good condition, especially after periods of heavy rain.

Design and use

The RUSH lantern has a compact and linear design. Its dimensions — 250 mm in height, 160 mm in length and 160 mm in depth — allow it to be installed in spaces where a bulky luminaire is not desired. The dark grey finish integrates well with neutral-colored facades, stone walls or concrete surfaces. It is not a decorative piece in the strict sense, but it does not look out of place either: it has a contained presence that accompanies without imposing.

The aluminum body ensures lightness and corrosion resistance. The transparent polycarbonate diffuser lets light through without distorting it, making good use of the 14W of the included COB LED. This type of light source concentrates the light emission in a precise area, which is useful when you want to illuminate a specific area of the garden, entrance or patio without dispersing light in all directions.

The 180º opening option allows asymmetric light distribution. This means the lamp can be oriented to cover a wide surface on one side, instead of projecting a symmetrical beam. It is especially useful in gardens where the lantern is placed alongside a path or near the ground, to illuminate the route without generating direct glare. It also works well on terraces where you want to light the walkway without affecting the rest area.

The DALI version of this model allows the lamp to be integrated into more advanced lighting control systems. This facilitates intensity regulation from a centralized panel, which is useful in installations where there are several lights and you want to manage the whole in a coordinated manner.

Regarding bollards and signage posts, the RUSH does not directly compete with those types of elements, but it can be combined with them in a broader outdoor lighting project. While the bollards and post mark the route from the ground, the wall lantern adds height and depth to the ensemble. The result is more balanced lighting, without shadow areas between light points.

The RUSH lantern can be installed in private gardens, building entrances, communal patios, parks or any outdoor space that needs functional and long-lasting light. The combination of technical materials, certified protection and included light source makes it a straightforward option: it arrives, gets installed and works.

Questions and answers

Does the RUSH lamp include the light source or does it need to be purchased separately?

The 14W COB LED light source is included. It is not necessary to purchase it separately or make any additional adaptations before installation.

What does IP65 protection mean in practical terms for an outdoor installation?

IP65 indicates that the lamp is fully protected against dust and against water jets from any direction. It can be installed in outdoor areas exposed to rain without risk to the internal functioning of the lantern.

What does the DALI version offer compared to a conventional electrical connection?

The DALI version allows the luminous intensity of the lamp to be regulated from a compatible control system. It is useful when you want to integrate the lantern into an installation with several lights managed centrally, for example in gardens or patios with automation.
