Overview

The RUSH lamp by FARO is an outdoor luminaire designed to be mounted directly on the wall. It works well in gardens, patios, building entrances, and passageways where clear, stable lighting is needed. The lantern is fixed to the wall without the need for additional structures, which considerably simplifies installation.

What sets this lamp apart is its solid construction and the protection it offers against outdoor conditions. The body combines aluminium and polycarbonate, materials that hold up well against temperature changes, humidity, and impacts. The lantern is designed to stay in place for years without requiring much attention.

FARO is a Spanish brand with a long track record in technical and decorative lighting. Their outdoor products combine functionality with a restrained design that adapts to very different environments.

Installation and specifications

For installation, a flush-mounted junction box in the wall or a suitable electrical connection point for outdoor use is required. It is recommended that installation be carried out by a qualified electrician. Before starting, make sure to cut the power supply at the distribution panel. The lantern is fixed directly to the wall using the corresponding anchors. Verify that the surface is firm and that the cables are long enough to reach the connection terminals comfortably.

To clean the lamp, a dry or slightly damp cloth is sufficient. Do not use abrasive products or solvents on the body or the polycarbonate diffuser. Although the IP65 protection rating prevents the entry of water and dust, it is advisable to check the condition of the lantern at the start of each season to verify that the closures and sealing are in good condition.

Design and use

The RUSH collection is manufactured with environments in mind where the lamp will be continuously exposed to the elements. The aluminium body provides rigidity without adding weight, and the polycarbonate diffuser is highly impact-resistant, as certified by the IK10 rating. This means the lantern can withstand considerable impacts without the diffuser cracking or deforming. In frequently used spaces, such as entrances, parking areas, or garden paths, this makes a difference in the long run.

The IP65 protection guarantees that neither projected water nor dust particles enter the interior of the lamp. On a wind-exposed terrace or in a patio with nearby vegetation, this translates into reliable operation throughout the product's useful life. There is no need to dismantle the lantern to protect it during periods of heavy rain or cold.

The 4000K colour temperature produces a neutral white light, slightly warm. It is a tone that illuminates clearly without generating the coldness that can sometimes be uncomfortable in spaces used for extended periods. In the garden, it allows paths and passageways to be easily distinguished. On the terrace or patio, it creates a balanced atmosphere that is not harsh on the eyes.

The dark grey finish of the body blends with facades of different styles. It integrates seamlessly into exteriors with concrete, stone, or treated wood cladding. It does not draw too much attention during the day, and at night its presence is defined by the light it emits.

The 360° variant of the lantern distributes light symmetrically in all directions, which is useful when a wide area needs to be covered from a single point. The wide option, on the other hand, projects the beam over a greater distance, suitable for illuminating long stretches of ground or extended facades. On a garden post or at the entrance to a home, that reach capability makes a difference.

This lamp works well in combination with ground bollards when a continuous line of lighting is desired along a path. It can also be complemented with a taller post to cover areas where wall lighting does not reach. In larger spaces, such as parks or communal gardens, several units distributed along the perimeter provide uniform coverage without the need for higher-powered lights.

The included COB LED and compatibility with voltages between 100V and 240V facilitate its use in different contexts, without additional adapters.

Questions and answers

What level of protection does this lamp offer against rain and dust?

The lantern has IP65 certification, meaning it is completely protected against dust and against water projected from any direction. It is suitable for installation in outdoor areas directly exposed to rain.

Is the polycarbonate diffuser highly impact-resistant?

Yes. The RUSH collection has a certified impact resistance of IK10, which is the highest level on the standard scale. The PC diffuser withstands impacts without cracking, making it suitable for passageways or heavily used spaces.

Is the LED light source included or does it need to be purchased separately?

The COB LED comes included from the factory. No additional light source needs to be purchased to get the lamp up and running.
