Overview

RUSH is an outdoor lamp developed by FARO, designed to be installed on garden walls, entrances and parks. It mounts directly on the wall and projects light where it is needed, with no loose cables or obstructing elements. If you are looking for a lantern that can withstand the elements without losing functionality, this piece fulfils that purpose clearly.

The body is made of aluminium and transparent polycarbonate, two materials that complement each other well in outdoor use conditions. The aluminium provides structural solidity and the polycarbonate resists impacts and climatic variations. The IK10 certification indicates high mechanical protection, and the IP65 guarantees that neither rain nor dust affects the lantern's performance over time.

FARO is a Spanish brand with experience in technical and decorative lighting. Its products combine performance criteria with restrained design, making them compatible with very different spaces.

Installation and specifications

For wall-mounted installation, it is advisable to check that the surface is firm and capable of holding the lantern without movement. Before fixing the lamp, verify that the wall's electrical wiring is correctly prepared and that the installation complies with current local regulations. It is recommended that electrical work be carried out by a qualified technician.

The exterior of the lamp can be cleaned with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could damage the aluminium surface or the polycarbonate diffuser. Periodically check that the wall fixing points remain in good condition.

Design and use

The RUSH collection from FARO is designed for technical outdoor lighting. This lamp in particular, in its wall-mounted version, integrates cleanly into garden walls, entrance facades, park paths or patio areas. It does not seek to draw attention to itself, but rather to do its job well: projecting light in a stable and lasting manner.

The aluminium body with a dark grey finish remains discreet against different types of cladding, whether concrete, stone or render. It is not a decorative piece in the strict sense, but its clean geometry fits without friction in modern environments or more austere entrances. Along the ground of a garden, a row of lanterns from this collection generates continuous and orderly lighting.

The included light source is a COB-type LED, which offers uniform light distribution. The colour temperature of 2700K produces a warm light, close to traditional incandescent light, which is pleasant in outdoor night-time environments. It does not generate the coldness that sometimes feels uncomfortable in rest areas or terraces.

The 360º version of this lamp distributes light symmetrically around the lantern, covering the surrounding area without leaving shadowed zones. This makes it useful when placed at central points in a garden or next to ground-level elements that need visibility from several angles. The wide variant, for its part, disperses the beam over a greater distance, allowing broader strips to be illuminated from a single installation point.

The DALI version allows the lantern to be integrated into lighting control systems. This makes it possible to adjust the intensity from a centralised panel, which is practical in park installations, communal entrances or gardens with several coordinated light points. It is not necessary to operate each lamp individually.

The transparent polycarbonate diffuser lets light through without visible interference, and its IK10 impact resistance protects it against accidental knocks. The IP65 rating covers the lamp against direct water jets and solid particles, so it works well when exposed to continuous rain, sprinkler irrigation or dusty environments.

In terms of installation, this lantern takes up little space on the wall. With 250 mm in height and 160 mm in depth, it does not protrude excessively and adapts to walls with limited space. It can be placed at the entrance of a home, along a garden path or on the sides of a terrace, always ensuring that light reaches where it is needed without creating direct glare.

Questions and answers

What does it mean that this lantern has IK10 certification?

IK10 is the highest level of mechanical protection against impacts. It indicates that the lamp body can withstand significant blows without the diffuser or structure being damaged. This is relevant outdoors where the lantern may be exposed to intensive use or high-traffic areas.

Does the DALI version require a specific control system to operate?

Yes. DALI compatibility allows the lantern to be connected to a DALI lighting control system to regulate intensity in a centralised manner. Without that system, the lamp works just the same, but without the dimming options offered by the protocol.

Does the transparent polycarbonate diffuser affect the perceived colour temperature?

Not significantly. The transparent polycarbonate lets light through without altering it, so the colour temperature of 2700K is perceived faithfully. The light is warm and uniform, with no visible filters or distortions.
