Overview

The FARO RUSH lamp is a surface luminaire designed for outdoor installation. It mounts directly on the wall — surface-mounted — and provides constant light in gardens, patios, terraces, and outdoor passageways. The 360º distribution option allows for symmetrical lighting around the mounting point, with no dark zones or blind angles.

The body is made of aluminum and transparent polycarbonate, giving it resistance against rain and everyday impacts. The IP65 rating guarantees protection against water and solids, and the IK10 resistance indicates it can withstand considerable impacts without damage. It is a lamp designed to last under real outdoor use conditions.

FARO is a Spanish company with decades of experience in technical and decorative lighting. Its RUSH collection reflects that practical approach: resistant materials, good luminous performance, and a clean aesthetic that adapts to different environments.

Installation and specifications

For installation, the lamp must be connected to the standard domestic electrical network of 220V–240V. It is recommended that the connection work be carried out by a qualified electrician. Before fixing the surface mount to the wall, verify that the surface can support the weight of the assembly and that there are no cables or pipes at the anchoring point. The mounting position should allow the wiring to remain protected inside the structure.

To keep the lamp in good condition, clean the body and diffuser with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that may damage the polycarbonate. Do not handle the luminaire with the power connected. Periodically check the fixing points to ensure they remain secure.

Design and use

The FARO RUSH collection was born as a response to a specific need: to illuminate outdoor spaces efficiently, with materials that do not deteriorate over time. This particular lamp is a wall lantern — surface-mounted — that installs on vertical surfaces and provides stable light regardless of weather conditions.

The aluminum body provides solidity without adding unnecessary weight. It is a material that does not oxidize easily and maintains its dark grey finish well against humidity and temperature changes. The transparent polycarbonate diffuser lets light through without filtering it, allowing full use of the 14W COB LED source. The color temperature of 2700K produces a warm light, similar to that of a classic incandescent lamp, which is pleasant in outdoor nighttime environments.

The 360º option of this lantern is especially useful when uniform illumination around the installation point is desired. At an entrance, for example, it prevents one side from being darker than the other. In a garden, it helps define a path or a seating area without creating harsh contrasts of light and shadow. It also works well on terraces where soft but functional lighting is sought.

The RUSH lantern can be combined with other elements from the same collection to create a coherent lighting line along a perimeter wall or facade. In larger spaces, such as parks or community gardens, several light points distributed at the same height create a sense of continuity and visual order.

The design is sober and technical. It does not compete with the architecture or the surrounding vegetation — it simply fulfills its function. This makes it compatible with very different styles, from a modern facade with straight lines to a more classic garden with stone or brick. The absence of ornamentation keeps it discreet and functional.

The CASAMBI version of this lamp allows it to be integrated into wireless control systems. This means it can be adjusted from an app without the need to install additional wiring for home automation. It is a practical option for those who want to manage their outdoor lighting conveniently.

With a net weight of just over two kilograms, the lantern is manageable during installation. Its compact dimensions — 250 mm in height and 160 mm in depth — allow it to integrate into spaces with little projection, without protruding too much from the wall.

Questions and answers

What does it mean that this lamp has IP65 protection?

The IP65 rating indicates that the lantern is completely protected against dust and against water jets from any direction. It can be installed in outdoor locations exposed to rain without humidity affecting the internal operation.

Does the polycarbonate diffuser yellow over time due to sun exposure?

The polycarbonate used in technical outdoor luminaires such as this one is treated to resist UV exposure. With basic maintenance — periodic cleaning with a soft cloth — the diffuser maintains its transparent appearance for years.

What advantage does the 360º distribution option offer compared to a directional lantern?

The symmetrical 360º distribution allows light to be spread evenly in all directions from the mounting point. This is useful in gardens or entrances where a wide area needs to be covered without installing multiple light points.
