Overview

The RUSH lamp by FARO is a surface-mounted luminaire designed for outdoor use. It mounts directly on the wall and works well in gardens, patios, entrances and walkways. If you are looking for a lamp that can withstand rain, impacts and temperature variations without losing functionality, this is a solid option.

The lantern is made of aluminium and transparent polycarbonate, making it resistant to continuous outdoor use. The IP65 rating guarantees protection against rain and dust. The IK10 impact resistance rating indicates that it withstands strong impacts without being damaged. The 360º option distributes light symmetrically around the post or fixing point, which is useful when you need to illuminate in all directions at once.

The RUSH collection is designed for technical outdoor installations. FARO is a Spanish brand with experience in lighting for domestic and professional use, with a presence in residential projects and public spaces.

Installation and specifications

Preparation and installation. The lantern is fixed directly to the wall using a surface-mounted system. Before you begin, check that the surface is solid and can support a weight of just over two kilograms. Wiring must be carried out with the power switched off. The lamp is compatible with electrical networks from 100V to 240V, so no adapters are required in most standard installations. If you have no experience with electrical installations, it is recommended that an electrician carry out the assembly.

Use and maintenance. Clean the surface of the lantern with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could damage the polycarbonate or the dark grey aluminium finish. Although the lamp has IP65 protection, it is recommended to periodically check the condition of the seals and connections to ensure there is no accumulation of internal moisture.

Design and use

The RUSH collection is designed to provide light in outdoor settings where durability matters as much as the visual result. The lantern body combines aluminium and polycarbonate, two materials that complement each other well: the aluminium provides rigidity and corrosion resistance, while the transparent polycarbonate allows light to pass through without distortion.

The dark grey aluminium finish integrates without drawing too much attention on facades, garden walls or patio walls. It is not a decorative piece in the ornamental sense, but a luminaire that performs its function efficiently and with a clean appearance. In a garden with vegetation, the dark tone of the body contrasts well with the green without disrupting the overall look. On a terrace with neutral materials, such as concrete or stone, it also fits in without forcing the style.

The transparent polycarbonate diffuser allows the interior of the lamp to be seen, giving it a more technical appearance than that of a classic or wrought iron lantern. The 2700K light corresponds to a warm white, similar to that of a traditional light bulb. This tone creates a pleasant atmosphere at night without feeling cold or clinical. It is useful in areas where people will be present: an entrance, a garden path, the surroundings of a swimming pool or a terrace where dinner is often held in summer.

The 360º distribution option makes this lantern suitable when illumination is needed in all directions from a single fixing point. On a central post in a garden or on a column, this allows several independent lights to be dispensed with. The beam covers the ground and surrounding area uniformly, without pronounced dark zones at the sides.

The included COB LED has a power output of 14W. This is sufficient to illuminate a walkway or the perimeter of a patio without the lamp being excessively intense. In addition, energy consumption is low compared to older light sources.

The IK10 rating means the lamp can withstand impacts of up to 20 joules. This makes it suitable for high-traffic areas, such as estate entrances, parks or paths where garden machinery may pass. The IP65 protects against water jets from any direction, covering most weather conditions outdoors.

Questions and answers

Can this lamp be installed directly on an exterior wall without additional support?

Yes. The RUSH lantern is designed as a wall-mounted fixture, meaning it is fixed directly onto a vertical surface without the need for an independent support or additional post.

What does IK10 protection mean?

IK10 is the maximum level of resistance to mechanical impacts. It indicates that the lantern can withstand impacts equivalent to 20 joules without sustaining damage. It is suitable for high-traffic areas or exposure to occasional impacts.

Is a colour temperature of 2700K suitable for illuminating an entrance or garden at night?

Yes. 2700K corresponds to a warm white light, similar to that of an incandescent light bulb. It creates a pleasant outdoor atmosphere without being excessively intense or cold for areas regularly used at night.
