Installation and specifications

To install this pendant lamp, you need a ceiling light point enabled for outdoor use. Before starting, make sure to cut the power from the electrical panel. The suspension cable is attached to the ceiling using the included anchoring system. If you have doubts about the type of support required depending on the ceiling material, consult an electrician. The E27 LED bulb is not included and must be purchased separately.

Silicone does not require special products for cleaning. A damp cloth is sufficient to remove accumulated dust or dirt. Avoid solvents or abrasive products that may alter the finish. Although the material withstands outdoor conditions well, it is advisable to check the condition of the cable and connections once a year.

Design and use

TOBA is an outdoor lamp with a shape that draws attention without being excessive. The silicone discs that make up its body are stacked vertically, creating a light volume with visual movement. When lit, light passes through each disc and spreads sideways and downward, wrapping the space in uniform and pleasant illumination.

The brown color of the body gives it a warm tone that fits well in both vegetation-filled environments and stone or wood facades. It is not a lamp that tries to go unnoticed, but neither does it compete with its surroundings. It is the type of piece that gives character to a porch or a pergola without the need to add more decorative elements.

The opal PEMD diffuser distributes light evenly. There are no shadow areas or concentrated intensity points. This makes it a good option for hanging over a garden table or in an outdoor seating area where ambient light is desired, not directed light. In a covered patio, for example, a single unit can be sufficient to illuminate the space functionally.

Silicone is a material that withstands temperature variations, rain, and occasional impacts well. It does not deform or lose color over time as other plastics do. This makes it especially suitable for outdoor settings where the lamp is continuously exposed. It also does not accumulate dirt easily, which simplifies maintenance in dusty or humid areas.

As an outdoor pendant lamp, TOBA can also be installed in semi-covered spaces such as a gallery or a glazed balcony. In these cases, the effect of the light on the silicone is especially visible at night, when the discs appear to glow independently. The result is a lighting effect that is somewhat rustic and somewhat contemporary at the same time, without belonging entirely to either category.

Compatibility with E27 LED bulbs allows the intensity and tone of the light to be adjusted according to use. For a terrace where dinner is served, a warm 2700K light works well. For a patio where visibility is also needed, a slightly more neutral color temperature may be more practical. The lamp accepts the standard voltage range of 100V to 240V, so there is no compatibility issue with the standard electrical installation in Spain.

Outdoor lights with silicone bodies are not common on the market. Most outdoor lights use metal or resin. TOBA offers something different, and that contrast with the usual is part of what gives it personality within an outdoor space.

Questions and answers

Can the silicone discs of TOBA deform or yellow with prolonged exposure to sun and rain?

Silicone is a stable material in the face of typical weather conditions. It does not deform in heat nor become brittle in cold. It also does not yellow with sun exposure in the same way as other plastics, which keeps the lamp's original appearance for longer.

Does the opal PEMD diffuser significantly affect the amount of light the lamp emits?

The opal diffuser filters and distributes light evenly, which reduces direct glare but maintains effective general illumination. For ambient use on a terrace or in a garden, the resulting light is sufficient. If more intensity is needed, a higher-wattage E27 LED bulb can be chosen within the indicated 12W limit.

Can this pendant lamp be installed on a completely uncovered porch or only in semi-covered areas?

TOBA is designed for outdoor use and its materials withstand rain, so it can be installed on an uncovered porch. What matters is that the ceiling point where it is mounted is prepared for outdoor use and that the electrical installation meets the appropriate conditions for that type of environment.
