Overview

The SAIGON OUT S W70 pendant lamp by FARO is designed for outdoor spaces where firm and durable lighting is needed. It works well on covered terraces, porches, pergolas and garden entrances. Its fixed ceiling mounting system allows installation without additional tension cables, making it more stable against adverse weather conditions: wind, humidity or sudden temperature changes.

The brown design with an opal diffuser gives it a refined look without drawing too much attention. Pendant and discreet at the same time, it adapts to both modern environments and more rustic settings. It is not a lamp that competes with the decoration of the space, but rather complements it.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in lighting. It specializes in solutions for domestic and semi-professional use, with a wide range of products for both indoor and outdoor use.

Installation and specifications

To install this pendant lamp on the ceiling, a fixed junction box on the exterior or a solid structural anchor point is required. Since it does not use tension cables, the support must be firm from the outset. It is recommended that installation be carried out by a qualified electrician, especially in outdoor spaces where humidity can affect connections. The accepted voltage ranges from 100 V to 240 V, making it compatible with the standard electrical network. The E27 LED bulb is not included and must be purchased separately, respecting the indicated maximum power of 15 W.

To keep the lamp in good condition, simply clean the surface with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that may damage the aluminum finish or the PEMD diffuser. Before any cleaning, make sure the luminaire is switched off and disconnected. Periodically check the condition of the ceiling anchor, especially after seasons of heavy rain or strong wind.

Design and use

The SAIGON OUT S W70 is an outdoor pendant lamp designed for direct ceiling mounting. Its aluminum construction provides durability without adding unnecessary weight: at just 1.67 kg, it does not represent a significant structural load for most porch or terrace ceilings. The dark grey finish of the body contrasts gently with the opal diffuser, which distributes light evenly and without direct glare.

The PEMD diffuser is a material suited to outdoor environments: it does not degrade easily with prolonged sun exposure and maintains its appearance over time. The light it projects has a soft and balanced tone, without marked shadow areas, making it suitable for illuminating a patio where people eat or spend time in the evenings.

Its fixed ceiling mounting format, without the need for tension cables, is a real advantage in spaces where wind can be a factor. In a garden with a covered pergola, for example, a lamp suspended with tension cables can move or become unstable. This pendant avoids that problem by design. It is also a visually cleaner solution, as there are no visible cables or additional metal elements to distract.

The scale of the luminaire is generous: with a diameter of 1050 mm, it covers large spaces well. It works as a central lighting point on medium or large terraces, or as one of several lamps on a continuous porch. In gardens with covered areas, it can be combined with other outdoor spotlights to create different levels of light according to need.

Visually, it fits well in rustic environments thanks to the brown tone and the rounded shape of the diffuser. But it also works in outdoor settings with a more contemporary style, where modern clean-design lights integrate with natural materials such as wood or stone. It is not an antique lamp in the strict sense, but it has a classic presence that does not become outdated over time.

If the space already has a gallery or a balcony with a fixed ceiling, this pendant can be installed directly without additional work. The wiring is integrated into the mounting system itself, which simplifies the final result both aesthetically and practically.

Questions and answers

Why does this pendant lamp not need tension cables to be fixed to the ceiling?

The mounting system of the SAIGON OUT S W70 is designed to attach directly to the ceiling in a rigid manner, without tension cables. This makes it more robust against wind and other factors inherent to outdoor use, as it eliminates the points of movement generated by conventional tension cables.

What type of bulb does it accept and what is the recommended maximum power?

It accepts bulbs with an E27 LED fitting, with a maximum power of 15 W. The bulb is not included and must be purchased separately. It is important not to exceed the indicated power so as not to affect the performance or lifespan of the lamp.

Does the PEMD opal diffuser withstand direct sun exposure well?

PEMD is a material designed for outdoor use and withstands prolonged sun exposure well without losing its properties or deforming. The opal finish of the diffuser also helps maintain a uniform appearance over time, without noticeable yellowing.
