Overview

The SAIGON pendant lamp by FARO is a luminaire designed for outdoor use. It is installed on the ceiling of a terrace, a porch, or a covered entrance, and provides warm light with a visual effect that catches the eye without being excessive. The shade is made from UV-resistant polyester rope, which allows light to pass through the fabric and create a soft pattern around it. The result is diffuse, enveloping lighting with no direct light spots.

The SAIGON collection belongs to the Nahtrang design line for FARO, a brand with years of experience in indoor and outdoor lighting. Their products combine clean forms with materials designed to last under real-world conditions of use.

Installation and specifications

To install this pendant lamp, a ceiling light point with cable outlet is required. The fixture is mounted directly to the ceiling, so the surface must be solid and capable of supporting the weight of the unit. It is recommended that installation be carried out by an electrician or a person with knowledge of electrical work. Before connecting, verify that the mains voltage is compatible with the indicated range. Bulb not included: an E27 base bulb with a maximum power of 15 W must be purchased separately.

To clean the polyester rope shade, a dry or slightly damp cloth is sufficient. Do not use abrasive products or solvents. The aluminum body in a dark grey finish can be cleaned with a soft cloth. Although the lamp is designed for outdoor use, direct exposure to pressurized water should be avoided. Periodically inspect the condition of the cable and connections.

Design and use

The SAIGON pendant lamp has a design based on pure forms and balanced proportions. The cone-shaped shade, known as the C70 cone cap, is woven from ochre-colored polyester rope. This material, in addition to being resistant to solar radiation, has a texture that filters light in a particular way: it does not block it, but lets it pass between the threads, projecting an interplay of light and shadow onto the surroundings that changes depending on the time of day.

The lamp body is made of aluminum with a dark grey finish, a neutral tone that pairs well with metal structures, dark woods, or stone walls. This combination of materials — metal and technical textile — gives the piece its own character: it is neither entirely industrial nor entirely artisanal. It has something modern in its lines, but also a rustic quality in the texture of the shade, which makes it easy to integrate into different styles.

On a terrace, the pendant lamp can be placed above an outdoor dining table or in the center of a seating area. With a total height of 680 mm and an equal diameter, it occupies a generous space without appearing bulky. In an entrance porch, it serves a practical and aesthetic function at the same time: it marks the access point and adds warmth to the atmosphere. In a patio with a covered ceiling or a pergola, it can be combined with other lamps from the same collection to create broader lighting.

The UV resistance of the polyester fabric is an important detail for outdoor use. Constant exposure to sunlight can degrade materials over time, but this type of rope is treated to maintain its color and structure for longer than conventional textiles. The opal diffuser on the body helps to soften the emitted light, preventing it from being too direct or intense.

The lamp operates with an E27 LED bulb of up to 15 W, a format widely available in any store. This makes replacement easy when needed. The voltage range of 100 V to 240 V makes it compatible with electrical installations in different countries, which is useful if purchased for use outside Spain.

In a garden with a covered area or in an outdoor gallery, the SAIGON pendant lamp can be the central element of the nighttime décor. The light that passes through the ochre rope shade has a warm tone that invites you to linger. It is not a task light, but one that accompanies.
