Overview

The SAIGON OUT M C70 lamp by FARO is a pendant luminaire designed for outdoor use. It is ceiling-mounted with a fixed anchor, without the need for tension cables, making it particularly suitable for spaces where wind or other environmental conditions may affect a conventional suspension. It is a good option for lighting a terrace, porch, or garden where stable and well-positioned light is desired.

The dark green color gives it a character of its own. It does not go unnoticed, but it is not excessive either. It adapts well both to more natural surroundings and to facades with contemporary finishes. The aluminum construction ensures durability in outdoor conditions without adding unnecessary weight.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in lighting. Its outdoor catalogue is designed to withstand real open-air use, combining functionality with careful aesthetics.

Installation and specifications

To install this outdoor ceiling pendant lamp, it is important to have a suitable junction box for outdoor use. The fixed anchor without tension cables requires that the attachment point on the ceiling be solid and well leveled. It is recommended that the installation be carried out by a qualified electrician, especially in spaces exposed to the elements. Before connecting, make sure the electrical supply is switched off. The lamp supports voltages between 100V and 240V, making it compatible with standard installations.

For maintenance, clean the surface with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that may damage the aluminum finish. The PEMD opal diffuser can be cleaned in the same way. Periodically check the condition of the anchor and connection cables, especially after periods of heavy rain or strong wind.

Design and use

The SAIGON OUT M C70 is an outdoor pendant lamp with a wide profile and a clear visual presence. Its 665 mm diameter makes it a piece that fills the space well without overwhelming it. Hung above a garden table or in the center of a covered porch, it creates a defined area of light that invites you to linger.

The body is made of aluminum, a material that combines lightness with corrosion resistance. It is a common choice for outdoor luminaires precisely because it withstands temperature changes and humidity well without deteriorating quickly. The dark grey finish gives it a solid and understated appearance that does not visually compete with the surroundings but still has a character of its own. In a garden with dense vegetation or on a terrace with natural materials, that dark tone fits in naturally.

The diffuser is made of PEMD with an opal finish. This type of diffuser distributes light evenly, without creating bright spots or harsh shadows. In an outdoor space at night, that makes a difference: the light spreads softly over the area without dazzling those seated beneath it. It is the kind of lighting that makes a terrace feel welcoming as night falls.

One of the distinguishing features of this pendant lamp is its fixed ceiling anchor system without tension cables. Outdoors, especially in windy areas, a suspension with tension cables can become unstable or require frequent adjustments. The fixed anchor eliminates that problem: the lamp is held rigidly in place, without movement, which also makes long-term maintenance easier.

A porch, covered patio, or pergola with a solid roof are the ideal spaces for this type of installation. It can also work well in an outdoor gallery or at the entrance of a home, where a lamp is needed that can withstand the elements without losing style. Its total height of 965 mm allows it to hang at an appropriate distance from the ceiling without being too low.

Compatibility with E27 LED bulbs of up to 15W makes it easy to find the right light source. Bear in mind that the bulb is not included, so it is worth choosing one according to the desired level of illumination. A warm-toned LED accentuates the character of the natural materials in the surroundings; a neutral-toned one provides a more functional and uniform light.

In terms of integration with the surroundings, the SAIGON OUT M C70 works well alongside other outdoor lights of a similar style: wall sconces, post lanterns, or directional spotlights. The dark green of the body can complement finishes in matte black, aged brown, or bottle green. In spaces with a more rustic style, the rounded volume of the lamp evokes a certain tradition without looking dated. In modern settings, the aluminum and opal finish give it a restrained and contemporary appearance.

Questions and answers

Why does this pendant lamp use a fixed anchor instead of tension cables?

The fixed ceiling anchor is designed for outdoor environments where wind or other conditions may move a conventional suspension. By eliminating the tension cables, the lamp is held rigidly in place, which increases stability and reduces wear on the components over time.

Is the PEMD diffuser with opal finish suitable for outdoor use?

Yes. PEMD is a resistant material designed to withstand the conditions typical of outdoor use. The opal finish distributes light evenly and does not create annoying reflections, making it especially useful in terrace or garden spaces where soft and functional lighting is desired.

What type of bulb does this lamp take and what is the maximum wattage?

The lamp is compatible with E27 screw-base bulbs in LED format, with a maximum power of 15W. The bulb is not included and must be purchased separately. The supported voltage is 100V to 240V, making it compatible with standard electrical installations.
