Overview

The FARO pendant lamp is designed for outdoor spaces: terraces, gardens, porches, or patios. It mounts to the ceiling and hangs with a drop that allows the height to be adjusted to suit the space. The bubble glass diffuser protects the bulb and distributes light gently, without uncomfortable bright spots. The combination of matte white and copper gives it a classic character with a contemporary touch — that balance that works well both in modern home exteriors and in settings with more personality.

FARO is a Spanish brand with years of experience in outdoor and indoor lighting. Their products are designed to last under real conditions, with materials selected for each type of use. This pendant lamp is part of their outdoor line, developed specifically to withstand use in open environments.

Installation and specifications

Installing this pendant lamp requires an enabled ceiling point outdoors, with adequate protection for installations in exposed areas. It is recommended that installation be carried out by a qualified electrician. Before starting, make sure to cut the power from the electrical panel. The suspension cable allows the lamp to be hung at the desired height within the available range. No bulb is included, so an E27 socket bulb compatible with outdoor use must be purchased separately.

The steel body with matte white finish can be cleaned with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could damage the finish. The diffuser glass is cleaned with a dry or slightly damp cloth, without pressing. Do not handle the lamp while the power is connected. Periodically check the condition of the cable and connections to ensure safe operation.

Design and use

This FARO outdoor pendant lamp combines two materials with their own character: steel lacquered in matte white for the body and bubble-shaped blown glass for the diffuser. The result is a piece that does not go unnoticed but does not visually overwhelm the space either. The copper tone that appears in the metal details balances the whole and adds a warmth reminiscent of lights from earlier eras, without feeling outdated.

The spherical transparent glass diffuser is one of the most recognisable elements of this type of pendant lamp. It protects the bulb from the wind and moisture typical of outdoor environments, while at the same time allowing light to pass through evenly. With an E27 LED bulb, the resulting illumination is soft and ambient — ideal for creating a pleasant atmosphere on a terrace or porch without the light source being uncomfortable to look at.

The steel body is treated to withstand typical outdoor conditions. Its matte white finish integrates easily with light-coloured facades, painted porch ceilings, wooden pergolas, or metal structures. It also works well as a contrast in darker or more natural settings, such as gardens with dense vegetation or patios with stone or terracotta floors.

In terms of proportions, the lamp has a total length of 1015 mm, which includes the suspension cable. The glass sphere measures 260 mm at its widest point. These dimensions make it a luminaire with presence, suitable for spaces of a certain size. In a covered gallery or a roofed entrance, a single unit may be sufficient. In larger areas, such as a wide patio or a roofed terrace, several pendant lamps can be combined at different heights to achieve a more distributed and visually interesting lighting scheme.

The timeless design of this lamp allows it to coexist with very different styles. In an outdoor setting with modern lines and industrial materials, the copper acts as a warm accent that breaks the coldness of metal and concrete. In a more rustic environment, the bubble glass evokes classic garden lanterns, but with a cleaner and more contemporary execution. In both cases, the lamp does not need other elements to justify itself — it has enough identity of its own.

For those looking to renovate a porch or bring a garden corner to life without making major changes, this type of pendant luminaire is a straightforward option. It mounts to the ceiling, takes up little space, and transforms the perception of the place as soon as night falls. The light it projects with a suitable bulb defines the atmosphere of the entire area.

Questions and answers

Does the E27 socket accept any LED bulb on the market, or are there power restrictions?

The lamp accepts LED bulbs with an E27 socket up to a maximum of 15 W. Within that limit, it is compatible with most standard LED bulbs available. It is recommended to verify that the chosen bulb is suitable for outdoor use or is protected by the glass diffuser.

Does the suspension cable allow the hanging height of the lamp to be adjusted?

Yes. The cable can be trimmed or gathered during installation to adapt the drop to the available ceiling height. It is recommended that this adjustment be made by the installer at the time of assembly, before permanently fixing the lamp to the ceiling point.

Does the matte white finish on the steel body hold up well to prolonged exposure to sun and rain outdoors?

The steel body with matte white finish is treated for outdoor use. Even so, in areas with very intense weather conditions or continuous direct exposure to rain, it is recommended to periodically check the condition of the finish to keep the lamp in good condition for longer.
