Overview

The SCREEN floor lamp by FARO is an outdoor luminaire designed for open spaces where constant, uniform lighting is needed and capable of withstanding environmental conditions. With a height of 3.7 meters, it is suitable for private gardens, parks, pedestrian pathways, and common areas in residential developments. Its technical design does not draw attention to itself — it simply does what is expected of a street lamp: illuminate well and last.

The aluminum body and transparent polycarbonate diffuser form a stable combination against impacts and physical force, backed by the IK10 rating. The IP65 protection ensures that rainwater and solid particles do not affect the internal operation. The included COB LED light source operates at 2700K, a warm temperature that is not harsh in the nighttime outdoor environment.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in lighting. Their outdoor products are designed for real installations, where maintenance matters and durability is not optional.

Installation and specifications

Before installing the floor lamp, verify that the ground anchor point is level and prepared to receive the post. This luminaire is fixed directly to the ground, so it is necessary to have the underground electrical conduit in place before proceeding with assembly. Installation must be carried out by a qualified electrician, as it involves connection to the electrical mains. Check that the installation voltage is compatible with the range indicated in the technical sheet.

To clean the body surface, use a damp cloth with water and, if necessary, a mild detergent. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that may damage the dark grey finish. The polycarbonate diffuser can be cleaned in the same way. Periodically check that leaves or other plant debris have not accumulated around the base, especially in gardens with heavy vegetation.

Design and use

The SCREEN collection by FARO was conceived as a technical outdoor lighting proposal that combines physical resistance with a discreet aesthetic. The 3.7-meter floor lamp is the centerpiece of this series, designed to cover large areas with a single well-positioned light source.

The aluminum body provides structural rigidity without adding unnecessary weight. The polycarbonate, both in the body and in the diffuser, contributes to the impact resistance certified at IK10 level — one of the highest within the standard scale. This is relevant in public-use environments or in gardens with frequent activity, where the lighting is more exposed to accidental impacts.

The IP65 rating protects the interior of the luminaire against water projections from any direction, as well as against the ingress of dust and solid particles. This allows the floor lamp to operate without interruption even on nights of heavy rain or in areas with wind that raises dust from the ground.

The color temperature of 2700K produces a warm light, similar to that of a classic garden street lamp. This tone does not visually interfere with nighttime vegetation and does not create harsh contrasts between illuminated areas and areas in shadow. The result is a balanced atmosphere, where the outdoor space feels safe and welcoming without the lamp being excessively bright.

The 360-degree distribution option allows light to be spread symmetrically around the post. This is useful in installations where the floor lamp is located at the center of a space, such as a garden roundabout, an interior courtyard of a residential development, or a crossroads in a park. The wide variant, on the other hand, projects light over a greater horizontal distance, which is practical on pedestrian avenues or areas with linear routes.

The dark grey finish integrates the floor lamp well into contemporary environments without standing out excessively during the day. In combination with natural stone, gravel, or treated wood paving, the post maintains a neutral presence that does not compete with the rest of the outdoor design.

This luminaire can be installed alongside other pieces from the same SCREEN collection to create a coherent lighting system throughout the space. The uniformity of materials and finishes ensures that the ensemble has a clean visual reading, both by day and by night.

Questions and answers

Does the floor lamp include the light source or does it need to be purchased separately?

The 38 W COB LED light source is included. No additional components need to be purchased for lighting.

What does IP65 protection mean and in what situations is it relevant?

IP65 indicates that the luminaire is protected against the ingress of dust and against water projections from any direction. It is suitable for outdoor use in direct rain.

Are the 360-degree option and the wide variant different configurations within the same floor lamp?

Yes, they are two light distribution options available in the SCREEN collection. The 360° version illuminates symmetrically around the post, while the wide variant projects light over a greater distance.
