Overview

The SCREEN floor lamp by FARO is an outdoor luminaire designed to illuminate gardens, parks and open spaces where stable, long-lasting light is needed. With a height of 3.1 metres and a 360° light distribution, it covers the area symmetrically, without dark spots or pronounced shadows. The 4000K colour temperature produces a neutral white light that looks natural both at night and at dawn.

This floor lamp is built from aluminium and transparent polycarbonate, two materials that work well together in outdoor conditions. The aluminium provides rigidity and resistance over time, while the transparent polycarbonate allows light to be distributed without loss of intensity. The combination results in a lightweight yet solid structure, suitable for permanent ground installation.

FARO is a company with years of experience in technical and decorative lighting. Its SCREEN collection is specifically designed for outdoor lighting in residential and public environments, with a focus on durability and practical performance.

Installation and specifications

For ground installation, it is recommended to prepare a firm concrete base or an anchor suitable for the type of terrain. The electrical connection must be carried out by a qualified electrician, as the floor lamp requires wiring embedded from the ground. Check that the power supply is compatible with the indicated voltage range before connecting the equipment. Observe minimum safety distances from transit areas or flammable surfaces.

For maintenance, clean the body with a damp cloth and a mild detergent. Avoid abrasive products that may scratch the polycarbonate or damage the dark grey aluminium finish. Periodically check the anchor points and sealing joints to ensure that the IP65 protection is maintained in optimal conditions.

Design and use

The SCREEN floor lamp is part of a technical collection designed by FARO for outdoor lighting in environments that require resistance and reliability. It is not a solar or rechargeable luminaire, but a fixed-installation floor lamp that runs on the domestic electricity grid, ensuring continuous operation without depending on weather conditions or a battery charge level.

The aluminium body with a dark grey finish fits well in modern gardens, large patios and pedestrian walkways. Its compact 160 mm cross-section profile does not visually dominate the space, but at 3.1 metres in height it projects light downwards efficiently. The 360° distribution option allows the floor lamp to act as a central lighting point, covering the surrounding area in a balanced way without needing to direct the beam in any specific direction.

The IK10 impact resistance means the body withstands significant mechanical impacts, which is useful in parks or high-traffic areas where accidental knocks may occur. The IP65 rating guarantees complete protection against dust and direct water jets, allowing the floor lamp to operate without issue at any time of year, including periods of heavy rain.

The included COB LED light source operates at 38 W and offers a colour temperature of 4000K. This type of neutral white light is suitable for garden paths, residential entrances or outdoor rest areas, where clear visibility is needed without the light being harsh. Unlike a solar floor lamp, this option guarantees the same level of illumination every night, with no variations due to cloudy days and no need to reposition a collector panel.

Regarding integration with the surroundings, the dark grey colour of the aluminium is a neutral tone that fits both in contemporary-design gardens and in more traditional spaces. If the garden combines classic-style lanterns with modern elements, the SCREEN floor lamp adapts to the overall setting without drawing too much attention. It can also be paired with other luminaires from the same collection to create a coherent lighting line along a path or perimeter.

The floor lamp does not incorporate a motion sensor or solar charging system, so it is managed from the general electrical system or via an external timer. This simplifies maintenance and eliminates components that may require replacement over time. The result is a robust outdoor floor lamp, built for long-term use, with predictable performance night after night.

Questions and answers

Does the SCREEN floor lamp include the light source, or does it need to be purchased separately?

The floor lamp includes a 38 W COB LED light source ready to use. No additional components are needed to put it into operation once the electrical installation has been completed.

What level of protection does it offer against rain and physical impacts?

The floor lamp has an IP65 rating, which protects against dust and direct water jets. It also has IK10 impact resistance, the highest level on this scale, meaning the body can withstand significant knocks without compromising the structure or its waterproofing.

Does the 360° light distribution affect installation or require any additional accessories?

No additional accessories are required. The 360° option is a feature of the transparent polycarbonate diffuser that distributes light symmetrically around the floor lamp. There is no need to orient it or adjust any component during assembly.
