Overview

The SCREEN floor lamp by FARO is an outdoor luminaire designed to illuminate gardens, parks and open spaces where stable, long-lasting and well-distributed light is needed. With a height of 3.1 metres, it occupies just the right space for lighting walkways, paths or green areas without being excessive.

This floor lamp is part of the SCREEN collection, made from aluminium and transparent polycarbonate. It is built to withstand rain, wind and everyday impacts thanks to its IP65 and IK10 certification. The version with 180-degree asymmetric light distribution directs light where it is most needed, without scattering it in all directions. It also incorporates CASAMBI technology for wireless control from a phone or integration into home automation systems.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in professional and decorative lighting. Its outdoor collection combines technical durability with a sober design that adapts well to modern or landscaped environments.

Installation and specifications

For installation, this floor lamp requires anchoring in firm ground, whether paved or compacted earth. As it is an outdoor luminaire connected to a 220V–240V mains supply, installation must be carried out by a qualified electrician. It is essential to prepare the underground cable conduit before fixing the post. Check that the anchor point is level so that the floor lamp stands perfectly vertical.

For maintenance, clean the aluminium body with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that may damage the dark grey finish. The transparent polycarbonate diffuser can be cleaned in the same way. Periodically check the condition of the anchor, especially after periods of strong wind or prolonged rain.

Design and use

The SCREEN floor lamp is installed directly in the ground and reaches 3.1 metres in height, a dimension designed for lighting private gardens, urban parks, pedestrian paths or building entrances. It requires no additional structure or raised support: the post itself serves as both base and body.

The unit is made from aluminium and polycarbonate, two materials that combine lightness with durability. The aluminium provides structural rigidity and tolerates prolonged exposure to sun, rain or temperature variations. The polycarbonate diffuser does not shatter on impact, which is particularly useful in public spaces or areas with frequent foot traffic.

The IK10 certification indicates that the luminaire withstands high-energy impacts without breaking or deforming. The IP65 rating guarantees that neither dust nor direct water jets affect the internal functioning. These two certifications together make the floor lamp suitable for both private gardens and more demanding environments such as streets, pedestrian areas or parks with heavy footfall.

The light source is a COB LED with a colour temperature of 3000K. This warm tone projects a light that feels neither cold nor clinical, but calm, inviting people to spend time outdoors without the lighting being the focal point. It is a type of light that works well on terraces and rest areas where a pleasant atmosphere at dusk is desired.

The 180-degree asymmetric distribution option is one of the most practical features of this version. Rather than illuminating in all directions, it concentrates light in a semicircle. This is useful when the floor lamp is placed next to a wall, a fence or at the edge of a path, preventing light from being wasted in areas where it is not needed.

Integration with the CASAMBI system allows the floor lamp to be controlled wirelessly from a mobile application, with no additional control wiring required. Brightness can be adjusted, schedules programmed, or it can be incorporated into lighting scenes alongside other compatible luminaires. This simplifies lighting management in larger installations, such as gardens with multiple light points or landscaping projects.

The dark grey body finish is discreet and does not draw attention during the day. It integrates well in contemporary settings, alongside concrete, stone or treated wood surfaces. It also fits into more natural gardens where the aim is for the infrastructure to go unnoticed and the focus to remain on the vegetation or landscape.

The floor lamp operates on a conventional 220V–240V mains supply and the LED light source is included. No additional components need to be purchased to get it up and running once the electrical installation is complete.

Questions and answers

What does the 180º asymmetric distribution mean on this floor lamp?

It means that light is not projected in all directions, but only towards a semicircle. This is useful when the floor lamp is installed next to a wall or at the edge of a path, as it concentrates the lighting where it is actually needed.

What level of protection does it offer against rain and impacts?

The floor lamp has an IP65 rating, which protects against dust and direct water jets, and IK10, which is the highest resistance to mechanical impacts. Both certifications make it suitable for outdoor use under intensive conditions.

Is an additional control system required to use the CASAMBI version?

The CASAMBI version includes the integrated wireless control module. You only need to download the CASAMBI application on your phone to manage the luminaire. No additional external controller is required.
