Overview

The SCREEN floor lamp by FARO is an outdoor luminaire designed for open spaces where stable and long-lasting lighting is needed. With a height of 3.1 meters, it is suitable for private gardens, parks, pedestrian access areas, and walkways. Its straight and compact design does not draw attention, but it fulfills its function well: illuminating the ground uniformly when there is no longer natural light.

The SCREEN collection works with an integrated COB LED and a color temperature of 3000K, which produces warm light. This tone is perceived pleasantly when walking at night, without the coldness of higher whites. The asymmetric 180-degree distribution option allows directing the lighting to one side, which is useful when the lamp post is placed near a wall or at the edge of a property.

FARO is a Spanish brand with experience in technical and decorative lighting. Its outdoor products are designed to work in real conditions, not just in a catalog.

Installation and specifications

Preparation and installation. This floor lamp is fixed directly to the ground. Before installing it, it is necessary to plan for underground electrical wiring up to the anchoring point. Work on the electrical installation must be carried out by a qualified electrician. Make sure the supporting base is firm and level so that the post remains perfectly vertical. The operating voltage accepts between 100V and 240V, making it compatible with the standard electrical grid.

Use and maintenance. Clean the body of the lamp post with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could damage the aluminum finish or the polycarbonate diffuser. Although the IP65 rating protects against dust and rain, it is advisable to periodically check the seals and the general condition of the luminaire, especially after periods of heavy rain or strong wind.

Design and use

The SCREEN floor lamp is made of aluminum and transparent polycarbonate. The aluminum provides rigidity and resistance over time without adding unnecessary weight to the structure. The polycarbonate diffuser allows light to pass through without distorting it, contributing to a clean distribution over the ground and nearby surfaces.

The dark gray finish integrates easily into natural environments and pavements with neutral colors. It does not draw attention during the day, but at night the warm 3000K light clearly defines the space. This light tone is one of the most widely used in residential outdoor settings because it resembles the light of a candle or a classic street lamp, without being harsh on the eyes.

The IP65 protection rating means the luminaire is sealed against dust and resistant to water jets from any direction. This makes it suitable for year-round use, even in areas with frequent rainfall. The IK10 impact resistance rating is the highest level on the scale, meaning the body can withstand considerable impacts without breaking. This is a relevant detail in public spaces or high-traffic areas, where the risk of accidental impacts exists.

The 180-degree asymmetric distribution option is a practical solution when lighting in all directions is not needed. If the lamp post is installed next to a wall, a fence, or at the edge of a path, this configuration concentrates the lighting where it is needed and avoids sending light where it is not used. It is especially useful in private gardens where the lighting is intended to be directed toward the area of use and not toward the outside of the property.

At 3.1 meters in height, the lamp post generates a cone of light that covers the immediate area well without creating abrupt shadows. This is a common height for garden or park luminaires, sufficient to illuminate a path or an open area without the need to install several light points very close together. In combination with other units from the SCREEN collection, it is possible to create a uniform line of lighting along a walkway or access path.

The included COB LED light source operates at 38W. The LED is integrated into the luminaire, so there is no need to find compatible bulbs or make adjustments before installation. The 3000K temperature maintains that warm tone that turns a nighttime garden into a space where one wants to be.

Questions and answers

What does it mean that the lamp post has asymmetric 180-degree distribution?

It means that the light is not spread in all directions, but is concentrated in a semicircle. It is useful when the lamp post is placed next to a wall or at the edge of an area, as it directs the lighting toward the zone to be illuminated without wasting light toward the opposite side.

Is the IP65 rating sufficient for installing this lamp post in an area with frequent rainfall?

Yes. IP65 guarantees full protection against dust and resistance to water jets from any angle. It is an appropriate level for outdoor use in climates with regular precipitation, with no need for additional protection.

Is the LED light source included or does it need to be purchased separately?

The luminaire includes the 38W COB LED. No additional light source needs to be purchased. The lamp post arrives ready to connect once the electrical installation has been completed.
