Overview

The FARO RUSH 3700 street light is an outdoor luminaire designed to illuminate gardens, parks and open spaces where stable, long-lasting light is needed. With a height of 3.7 metres, it covers large areas without leaving dark corners. The asymmetric 180-degree lighting option allows the light beam to be directed exactly where it is needed, without waste.

This street light is designed for permanent outdoor installations. It is not a solar or rechargeable lamp, but a fixed solution connected to the mains, with a COB LED light source included. This means that from day one it works without the need to change or add anything.

FARO is a Spanish company with decades of experience in lighting. Its outdoor products combine real durability with a design that does not draw too much attention, making them suitable for both private gardens and public spaces.

Installation and specifications

For the installation of this street light in outdoor ground, it is recommended to prepare a suitable concrete base to ensure stability. The electrical connection must be carried out by a qualified electrician, as the luminaire operates at 220V–240V and is intended for fixed installation. Before starting, check that the underground wiring is protected and compatible with outdoor use. The ground anchoring must be levelled so that the pole remains completely vertical.

For maintenance, clean the aluminium body with a damp cloth and avoid abrasive products that may damage the dark grey finish. The transparent polycarbonate diffuser may accumulate dust or dirt over time; clean it with water and mild soap. Do not use solvents or aggressive chemical products. Although the IP65 protection guarantees resistance to rain and dust ingress, periodically check the condition of the seals and gaskets.

Design and use

The RUSH 3700 street light is part of a technical outdoor lighting collection. The body is made of aluminium, a material that withstands weather conditions well without deteriorating over time. The diffuser is made of transparent polycarbonate, allowing light to emerge cleanly and without distortion. The unit has a dark grey finish that integrates well in natural environments, such as a garden with vegetation, or in urban areas with paving and modern street furniture.

The IP65 protection level means that this street light is prepared for direct rain and for environments with dust or suspended particles. It also features an impact resistance rating of IK10, the highest within standard classifications. This makes it suitable for walkways, public parks or installations where there is a risk of accidental impacts. It is not a fragile decorative lamp, but a lighting solution designed to last under real conditions.

The included COB LED light source operates at 4000K, a neutral colour temperature that sits between warm and cool white. Outdoors, this tone allows good visibility without creating an excessively cold sensation. It is a light that is pleasant for walking through a garden at night, or for illuminating an entrance without the lamp standing out aggressively.

The asymmetric 180-degree option is useful in situations where illuminating in all directions is not desirable. For example, if the street light is near a wall or at the boundary of a plot, this configuration concentrates the beam towards the side where lighting is actually needed. This improves efficiency and avoids disturbing adjacent areas.

Compatibility with the DALI protocol allows this street light to be integrated into broader lighting control systems. If the lighting of a space with several light points is being managed, this version can be adjusted and programmed from a centralised system. For a simple domestic installation it also works without any additional control system.

At 3.7 metres in height, this street light covers a generous surface area. It is a valid option for both a medium-sized private garden and a park or green area managed by a community. Its discreet design, in dark grey, does not impose a specific style, so it adapts to environments with different finishes: stone paving, wood, dense vegetation or open areas.

The FARO RUSH collection also includes other heights and configurations, making it possible to combine several units to create uniform lighting along a path or perimeter. This particular street light, with its compact 160 mm base profile, takes up little horizontal space and does not visually interrupt the surroundings.

Questions and answers

What does IP65 protection mean for this street light and what conditions is it sufficient for?

The IP65 rating indicates that the street light is completely protected against dust and resistant to water projected from any direction. It is suitable for installation in outdoor areas exposed to rain, but is not designed to be submerged in water.

Does the DALI version require a specific control system to operate?

No. The street light works in a standard way without the need for any DALI system. This version allows integration into installations with centralised control if desired, but it is not a requirement for normal use.

Does the transparent polycarbonate diffuser affect the distribution of outdoor light?

The transparent diffuser allows light to pass through without filtering or blurring it excessively. This allows the COB LED beam to be projected clearly, which is especially useful in the asymmetric 180-degree option for directing lighting precisely.
