Overview

The FARO RUSH 3700 street light is an outdoor luminaire designed to illuminate gardens, parks and open spaces where functional and durable lighting is needed. With a height of 3.7 metres, it covers large areas without the need to install multiple light points. The asymmetric 180-degree distribution option allows lighting to be directed exactly where it is needed, without wasting light towards areas that do not require it.

The aluminium body and transparent polycarbonate diffuser make this street light well suited to outdoor conditions: rain, dust, impacts. It is not a decorative indoor lamp adapted for outdoor use, but a product designed from the outset to work in the open air.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in lighting. Its RUSH collection is focused on technical outdoor lighting, and each piece is manufactured with materials that perform well under continuous use in variable conditions.

Installation and specifications

Before installation, check that the electrical connection point is accessible from the base of the pole and that the ground allows for stable fixing. The street light is anchored to the ground, so it may be necessary to prepare a concrete foundation base or use suitable anchors for the type of surface. Installation must be carried out by a qualified electrician, as it involves connection to the mains.

To keep the street light in good condition, clean the body and diffuser with a damp cloth and a mild detergent. Avoid abrasive products that could scratch the polycarbonate. Periodically check the condition of the base and anchors to ensure the structure remains secure.

Design and use

The RUSH 3700 street light is part of a technical outdoor lighting collection. Its design is intended to provide stable and uniform lighting in open-air areas, without relying on solar energy or external recharging. It operates directly connected to the mains, ensuring constant light regardless of weather conditions or battery charge levels.

The aluminium body provides rigidity and strength without adding excessive weight to the structure. The transparent polycarbonate diffuser protects the light source while allowing light to be distributed clearly towards the illuminated area. The combination of both materials results in a street light that maintains its appearance and performance after months or years of outdoor use.

The IK10 rating indicates that the unit withstands impacts of a certain intensity, which is relevant in public-use spaces such as parks or communal areas of residential developments. The IP65 rating ensures that neither dust nor direct pressurised water affects the interior of the luminaire. This makes this street light a suitable option for climates with frequent rainfall or areas with dust or dirt.

The 3000K colour temperature produces a warm light, similar to that of traditional incandescent lamps. This colour range promotes relaxed atmospheres and makes gardens and outdoor pathways feel welcoming at night. Unlike cool or neutral lights, 3000K light is not harsh and integrates well into natural environments with vegetation.

The asymmetric 180-degree distribution option allows the light beam to be directed to one side. This is useful when the street light is placed next to a wall, at the edge of a path or on a plot boundary, as it avoids illuminating private areas or areas where lighting adds nothing. It also reduces light pollution towards the surroundings, something increasingly valued in park and urban garden installations.

The COB LED light source is included and comes integrated into the street light. The LED consumes 38W, a reasonable level for a luminaire of this height. The COB LED distributes light evenly, without hot spots or visible differences between areas of the beam.

In terms of aesthetics, the dark grey finish gives it a discreet appearance that suits both contemporary-style gardens and more natural environments. It does not draw attention to itself, but fulfils its visual function well within the space. It can be combined with other luminaires from the RUSH collection to maintain consistency throughout the installation.

It is a common choice for access paths to single-family homes, walkways in residential communities or open spaces where a robust lantern with low maintenance requirements is needed. It also fits in small-scale parks or public gardens where the lantern must operate autonomously for many hours.

Questions and answers

Does this street light require a concrete foundation base to be installed in the ground?

It depends on the type of ground and the intended use. On soft ground or where a permanent installation is required, it is recommended to prepare a concrete base with suitable anchors. On hard pre-prepared surfaces, standard fixing elements may be sufficient. In any case, installation must be carried out by a professional.

What does the IP65 rating mean on this outdoor street light?

IP65 indicates that the luminaire is fully protected against dust and against low-pressure water jets from any direction. This makes it suitable for outdoor use exposed to rain and variable weather conditions, without water affecting the interior of the unit.

Does the 180-degree option limit the amount of light the street light emits?

It does not reduce the power of the lamp, but rather directs the light beam to one side instead of distributing it in all directions. This is useful when you want to concentrate the lighting on a specific area, such as a path or a façade, without illuminating the opposite area.
