Overview

The RUSH floor lamp by FARO is an outdoor luminaire designed for open spaces where lighting must withstand daily use and weather conditions without losing functionality. With a height of 3.1 metres, it is installed directly in the ground and provides light in gardens, parks, access paths and pedestrian areas. The 360º distribution option illuminates symmetrically around the pole, leaving no areas in shadow.

This floor lamp combines an aluminium structure with a transparent polycarbonate diffuser. The result is a robust lamp that withstands impacts — certified IK10 — and is protected against rain and dust with an IP65 rating. It requires no constant maintenance or frequent replacement parts, because the COB LED light source is included from the factory.

FARO is a Spanish company with decades of experience in technical and decorative lighting. Their outdoor products combine durable materials with a functional design that adapts to different environments.

Installation and specifications

Before installing the floor lamp, check that the ground anchor point is level and firm. The fixing is made directly into the ground, so it is advisable to prepare a concrete base or suitable foundation to ensure the stability of the pole. As this is an outdoor electrical installation, the wiring must be protected underground and comply with local electrical regulations. It is recommended that the installation be carried out by a qualified electrician.

For maintenance, simply clean the body and diffuser with a damp cloth and a mild detergent. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could damage the aluminium surface or the polycarbonate. Periodically check the anchors to make sure the floor lamp remains firm, especially after episodes of strong wind.

Design and use

The RUSH collection is conceived as a technical lighting solution for outdoor spaces that require constant and durable illumination. This 3.1-metre floor lamp covers a wide area thanks to its 360º light distribution, making it particularly useful in gardens with central paths, small squares, estate entrances or private parks. The light is distributed evenly around the pole, without creating shadow points or differences in intensity between sides.

The body is made of aluminium, a material that combines lightness with structural solidity. Although the floor lamp weighs almost 14 kilograms, the aluminium ensures it will not deform over time or with the temperature changes typical of outdoor use. The dark grey finish gives it a sober appearance that fits both urban environments and natural spaces. It does not draw attention through its colour, but it fulfils its function in a discreet and efficient manner.

The transparent polycarbonate diffuser allows the light from the COB LED to come through without being filtered or distorted. The colour temperature of 4000K produces a neutral white light, neither too cold nor too warm. This type of light is comfortable for moving around a garden at night, for illuminating an access terrace or for providing visibility in an outdoor patio without creating an industrial warehouse atmosphere. At 4000K, the colours of the surroundings are perceived naturally.

The IP65 protection rating means the floor lamp is sealed against dust ingress and resists direct water jets. This makes it suitable for climates with frequent rainfall or for areas where garden irrigation may reach the luminaire. The IK10 certification adds resistance to mechanical impacts, a relevant detail in public-use spaces or in gardens with frequent activity.

The COB LED light source is installed at the factory, which simplifies commissioning. With 38W of power and an input voltage of 100V to 240V, it is compatible with the standard electrical grid without additional adapters. The consumption is moderate for a floor lamp of this height, and LED technology guarantees a long service life without needing to change the bulb frequently.

In terms of integration into the environment, the RUSH range works well both in individual installations and in series of several units along a path. The shape of the pole is straight and the upper finish is clean, without ornaments that might look outdated over time. If you are looking for a lantern with a more traditional or wrought-iron appearance, this collection is not the most suitable. But if you need an outdoor lamp that lasts, offers good protection and provides pleasant light, RUSH delivers what is expected without complications.

Questions and answers

Does the RUSH floor lamp include the light source or does it need to be purchased separately?

The COB LED light source is included from the factory. No additional components are required for lighting.

What is the difference between the 360º option and other light distributions in this floor lamp?

The 360º option emits light symmetrically in all directions around the pole. This is useful when the floor lamp is positioned in the centre of a space, such as a garden or a path junction, and uniform illumination of the surroundings is needed without leaving any side in shadow.

What type of impacts does the IK10 rating exactly cover?

IK10 is the highest level of protection against mechanical impacts according to European regulations. It indicates that the diffuser and lamp body withstand impacts of up to 20 joules, equivalent to a considerable impact. This makes the floor lamp suitable for spaces with frequent traffic or where there is a risk of accidental contact.
