Overview

The FARO VOLGA 600 lamp is a wall light designed for spaces where humidity is part of the daily environment. Its IP44 protection rating makes it suitable for the bathroom, where proximity to water demands appropriate materials and construction. It is a surface-mounted luminaire that is fixed directly to the wall, with no hanging cables or elements that complicate installation.

The body is made of aluminium with a chrome finish, giving it a clean and understated appearance. The integrated LED technology provides warm light at 3000K, with no need to change bulbs. This wall light comes with the light source included, ready to connect.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in interior and exterior lighting. Its products combine functionality with attention to detail in materials and finishes.

Installation and specifications

To install this wall light, it is recommended to switch off the power at the electrical panel before starting. The connection point should be at the appropriate height so that the 600 mm length is well centred above the mirror or the area to be illuminated. If installing in a bathroom, make sure that the cables and connection box comply with the regulations for wet areas. If in doubt, it is preferable to hire an electrician.

To clean the chrome body, simply use a soft, slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could damage the finish. The opal PMMA diffuser is cleaned in the same way. Do not wet the luminaire directly even though it has IP44 protection, as this protection covers splashing, not immersion.

Design and use

The VOLGA 600 wall light has an elongated, horizontal shape that adapts well to various contexts within the home. In the bathroom, the most common placement is above the mirror, where it provides uniform frontal light that prevents shadows on the face. This makes it useful for routines such as applying make-up or shaving, where overhead lighting can be insufficient.

The opal PMMA diffuser distributes light gently, with no bright spots or harsh contrasts. The 3000K temperature produces warm light, similar to that of a traditional incandescent bulb, which is pleasant in spaces where one wants to relax. In a bathroom with light-coloured walls, this wall light can illuminate very efficiently with just 12W.

The aluminium body provides durability without adding weight. At 0.42 kg net, it is a lightweight lamp that does not require special wall anchoring. The chrome finish has a moderate shine that integrates well with taps and metallic accessories of a similar tone. If the bathroom has silver-framed mirrors, chrome towel rails or a modern linear design, this wall light fits in naturally.

Although its design is intended primarily for the bathroom, it can also work in other areas of the home. In a hallway, placed at eye level, it provides directed light that guides movement through the space without overwhelming it. Hallways are usually transit areas where intense lighting is not needed, and the softness of the opal diffuser suits that role well.

In a bedroom, the wall light can be installed on either side of the headboard as an alternative to bedside lamps. Its horizontal format and warm light create a calm atmosphere. The 600 mm length makes it more visually striking than a compact wall light, which can work well in rooms where the lamp is intended to be part of the decorative ensemble.

In transitional spaces between the kitchen and dining room, or at the entrance of the home, it can also be a practical option. A lamp of these characteristics on a side wall of the kitchen adds supplementary light without the need to install additional ceiling points. In the dining room, if placed on a side wall, it can complement the central lighting and soften the atmosphere during meals.

The chrome finish and modern profile of the VOLGA 600 allow it to be integrated into interiors with contemporary trends, where neutral materials, straight lines and metallic finishes predominate. It is not a piece that draws excessive attention, but rather one that blends into the ensemble without interfering with other elements in the space.

Questions and answers

Can the VOLGA 600 wall light be installed directly above the washbasin in the bathroom?

Yes, thanks to its IP44 protection rating it withstands water splashes, making it suitable for wet areas such as the bathroom. It is recommended to place it above the mirror or in the upper area of the wall, following the electrical regulations for bathroom installations.

Is the LED light source included or does it need to be purchased separately?

The 12W SMD LED light source is included with the wall light. You do not need to purchase any additional bulb; the luminaire is ready to connect and install directly.

Can the opal diffuser of the VOLGA 600 be removed for cleaning?

The opal PMMA diffuser is part of the lamp's structure. To clean it, simply wipe the outer surface with a soft, damp cloth. It is not recommended to disassemble it or apply chemical products that could affect the material.
