Overview

STOOD is a wall lamp from the design collection created by LÚCID for FARO. It is a wall light designed for interior spaces where a balance between warmth and visual presence is sought. The combination of cherry wood with a steel structure in a matte black finish gives it a distinct character: neither cold nor overly ornate.

This wall light works well in bedrooms, living rooms, hallways, and also in well-ventilated bathrooms. Its compact size — 220 mm wide and 200 mm tall — means it does not take up too much visual space on the wall, yet it creates a warm and well-defined light zone.

FARO is a Spanish company with decades of experience in home lighting. Their products combine aesthetic sensibility with durable materials, and the STOOD collection is no exception.

Installation and specifications

Before installing this wall light, make sure the chosen wall has access to a suitable power outlet or recessed wiring. As a surface-mounted wall luminaire, installation requires making a small hole to anchor the base. It is recommended to seek the help of an electrician if you do not have experience with electrical connections. Verify that your installation voltage is within the 100 V – 240 V range before connecting. The E27 LED bulb is not included and must be purchased separately; choose one with a maximum power of 15 W.

For maintenance, clean the wooden shade with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that may alter the natural cherry finish. The matte black steel structure can be cleaned with a soft cloth. Do not wet any part of the lamp directly and disconnect it from the power supply before cleaning it or changing the bulb.

Design and use

The STOOD lamp by FARO starts from a clear idea: bringing wood into the domestic space without the result looking rustic or outdated. The cherry shade has a warm tone and a natural grain that varies slightly from piece to piece. That gives it its own character. When the light is on, the wood acts as an indirect diffuser: it does not project a harsh beam, but rather a soft luminous zone on the wall and the immediate surroundings.

The matte black steel body acts as a counterpoint. The structure is firm and stable, and the matte finish avoids the shine that tends to age poorly over time. This combination of cherry and steel is what makes this wall light work across different decorating styles — from more contemporary interiors to proposals featuring natural or Nordic design elements.

As a wall light, STOOD requires no floor space or bedside table space. It mounts directly to the wall and leaves the rest of the room free. This is especially useful in bedrooms where the space around the bed is often limited. Installed at the right height, it can function as a reading light or as ambient lighting, depending on the bulb you choose.

In the living room, this type of wall light helps create differentiated lighting zones. Instead of relying on a single central light point, a wall light allows for a more balanced distribution of illumination. STOOD's size is well suited for this: visible but not dominant.

In the kitchen and dining room it also fits in, especially if the décor combines natural materials with more industrial finishes. Cherry wood integrates well with wooden tables, upholstered chairs, or open shelving. And the matte black of the structure complements appliances, window frames, or metal profiles in the same tone.

In medium or large bathrooms, this wall light can be installed as supplementary lighting beside the mirror. The lamp does not have a specific IP rating indicated in its specifications, so it is recommended to install it in areas away from the shower or bathtub, where direct humidity is not a factor.

Hallways are another space where this model offers a lot with very little. A well-placed wall light at mid-height transforms a functional hallway into a space with personality. The light it produces is not intense, but sufficient to find one's way and add warmth to the passage.

The lamp weighs 0.77 kg, which makes installation straightforward and does not require complex anchoring. Compatible with E27 LED bulbs, it allows you to choose from different color temperatures depending on your needs: warmer light for relaxed atmospheres, or more neutral light if greater functional clarity is required.
