Overview

The SOLE wall light by FARO is a wall lamp with a ribbed structure in white that can emit light to one side or both. This allows you to choose how the lighting is distributed according to the needs of each space. It works well both in a narrow hallway and in a main bedroom, without its compact size reducing its visual presence.

What sets this wall light apart is the combination of formal simplicity and real versatility. It requires no complicated decisions at the time of purchase: the white finish works with light walls, neutral-toned surfaces, and also with darker interiors where a clean contrast is desired. The ribbed texture of the body adds a visual detail without overloading the overall look.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in lighting. Their products are found in homes, renovation projects, and commercial spaces, and are designed to last without losing their appearance over time.

Installation and specifications

For installation, an existing electrical light point is required on the wall where the wall light is to be placed. As a surface-mounted wall lamp, it is anchored directly to the wall without the need for additional structures. It is recommended that installation be carried out by an electrician, as it involves connection to the electrical mains. Before starting, make sure to cut the power at the main panel. The socket is GU10, and the LED bulb is not included, so it is advisable to have one on hand before mounting.

For maintenance, simply clean the surface with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could affect the white aluminium finish. Do not handle the bulb with the wall light on or recently switched off, as the light source can reach high temperatures. Check from time to time that the wall anchor remains secure.

Design and use

The SOLE wall light has a body made of aluminium and steel, two materials that combine lightness and strength. The net weight of 0.2 kg makes it easy to handle during installation, and the solidity of the structure ensures it maintains its position on the wall without shifting over time. The white finish is uniform and does not show fingerprints easily, which helps maintain a neat appearance effortlessly.

The ribbed shape of the body is the first thing that catches the eye. It is not a minor decorative detail: the lines running across the surface create a texture effect that changes slightly depending on the direction of the light, something that is especially noticeable when the wall light emits light in both directions. This ability to direct light in one or two directions is one of the most practical aspects of this model, as it allows it to be adapted to different uses without changing the product.

In a living room, placed next to a sofa or near a bookcase, it works as ambient light that does not interfere with other light sources. In a bedroom, on either side of the headboard, it provides comfortable reading light without taking up space on the bedside tables. In the bathroom, above the mirror or on a side wall, it complements the general lighting and improves visibility at the moments when precision is most needed. In hallways, where space is often limited, its compact profile — 65 mm depth — allows it to be installed without protruding too far from the wall.

The lamp also works in dining rooms where a lateral light point is desired to complement a central fixture. In kitchens, it can be placed in work areas or transitional zones between rooms, providing functional light with a finish that does not clash with the white or neutral-toned furniture that predominates in many of these spaces.

The SOLE design is modern without being flashy. It does not impose a specific style, which makes it easy to combine with different interiors: from a room with straight-lined furniture and restrained colours to a space with more texture and layers. White is a colour that accompanies without taking centre stage, and in this wall light it fulfils exactly that function. If the surrounding environment has a strong presence, the lamp does not compete with it. If the space is more neutral, the ribbed detail adds some character without upsetting the balance.

Compatibility with voltages between 100V and 240V means this wall light can be used in installations with different electrical configurations, which is useful in renovations where the pre-existing installation may vary.

Questions and answers

Can the SOLE wall light emit light only upward or also in both directions at the same time?

Yes, the SOLE wall light is designed to emit light to one side or both sides. This allows you to decide whether you want more directed lighting or a more enveloping effect that illuminates both upward and downward from the mounting point on the wall.

Does the GU10 socket accept any LED bulb on the market?

The wall light uses a standard GU10 socket, compatible with most LED bulbs available on the market. The maximum power is 8 W, so it is advisable to respect that limit when choosing the bulb. Please note that the lamp does not include a bulb, so one must be purchased separately.

Does the aluminium and steel body of the wall light hold up well in bathrooms with normal humidity?

The aluminium and steel body with white finish is resistant to everyday use. For installations in bathrooms, it is advisable to place it in areas where it will not receive water directly and to ensure that the electrical installation complies with safety regulations for damp spaces.
