Overview

SOLE is a wall light by the brand FARO designed for those looking for a lamp that works well without drawing too much attention. Its round shape and matte black finish allow it to blend into different settings without forcing the style of the space. It can provide direct or indirect lighting depending on how it is oriented: it can emit light from one or both sides, giving more flexibility when distributing light around the room.

It is a valid option for living rooms, bedrooms, dining rooms, bathrooms, or hallways. It takes up no floor or ceiling space, mounts directly to the wall, and works with a GU10 LED bulb, which is not included but is easy to find.

FARO is a Spanish brand with years of experience in indoor and outdoor lighting. Their products combine functionality with careful design and are present in residential projects of various styles.

Installation and specifications

Before installing the wall light, make sure the wall is clean and dry at the mounting point. Be sure to cut the power from the electrical panel before starting any wiring work. If you have no experience with electrical installations, the safest option is to hire an electrician. The lamp is designed for surface mounting on walls, not for ceilings or recessed installation.

To clean the surface of the wall light, use a soft, dry cloth. Avoid abrasive or wet products that could damage the black finish. Do not handle the bulb while the lamp is on or immediately after turning it off, as it may be hot. Periodically check that the wall light remains securely fixed to the wall.

Design and use

The SOLE wall light has a compact build that does not interfere with the surrounding space. Its body is made of aluminium and steel, materials that give it solidity without adding unnecessary weight. Weighing just 260 grams, it is a lightweight lamp that does not require complicated anchors or specially reinforced walls. The black finish is uniform and resistant, and does not show fingerprints easily.

The circular shape of the wall light is one of its most recognisable features. With no sharp edges or protruding decorative elements, it fits well in both modern interiors and more neutral spaces. It does not impose a specific style, making it an easy element to combine. In a living room with dark furniture, it goes almost unnoticed. In a room with light-coloured walls, the contrast of the black looks clean and orderly.

One of the most practical features of the SOLE wall light is the ability to direct light in one direction or both. This allows it to be used in different ways depending on the need. Oriented upward and downward, it distributes light more evenly and can serve as general lighting in hallways or transit areas. If directed to only one side, it concentrates the light more and can be used to highlight a specific area of the wall or create a more enveloping light effect.

In the bedroom, the wall light works well as a reading or ambient light. Placed at bedside table height, it provides just the right amount of light without disturbing a sleeping partner. In the bathroom, its small size makes it suitable for tight spaces, whether next to the mirror or in a transit area. It is a lamp that does not need much room to perform well.

In the kitchen and dining room, it can be used as supplementary lighting or to define specific areas. In the kitchen, a well-placed wall light above the work area avoids awkward shadows. In the dining room, two units on either side of a painting or a sideboard area can produce a balanced and refined result without requiring much investment.

Hallways are another space where this type of wall light fits well. In long, narrow areas, placing several lamps at regular intervals allows for continuous lighting without relying on ceiling light points. The wall-mounted format is ideal in these cases because it frees up the upper plane and keeps the space visually uncluttered.

The SOLE wall light works with a GU10 LED bulb, which is not included. This type of bulb is widely compatible and easy to find. The choice of colour temperature will depend on the use: warmer light creates a more relaxed atmosphere, while more neutral light is more functional for work areas.

Questions and answers

Can the SOLE wall light emit light in both directions at the same time?

Yes. The wall light is designed to work with light from one or both sides, depending on how it is configured. This allows it to be adapted to different lighting needs within the same room.

What type of bulb does it need and what is the maximum permitted wattage?

The SOLE wall light uses a GU10 LED bulb, which is not included in the package. The maximum permitted power is 8 W. It is compatible with voltages between 100V and 240V.

Is the body of the wall light made entirely of aluminium or does it include other materials?

The body is made from a combination of aluminium and steel. Both materials provide strength and durability, keeping the total weight at just 260 grams.
