Design and use

The SIDE 450 is a wall light designed by Alex&Manel Lluscà for Faro Barcelona. Its structure is solid, made of steel, with a matte black finish that gives it a modern character without being eye-catching. The contrast between the dark body and the opal glass diffuser is one of the most recognisable features of this lamp: the base absorbs and the light comes out filtered, distributed evenly into the space.

The opal glass does not allow the LED source to be seen directly. This means the emission is diffuse, without excessive bright spots. The 3000K colour temperature produces a warm light, similar to that of a traditional incandescent bulb, which encourages calm and restful atmospheres. It is a type of lighting that works well in a bedroom, living room, or any sitting area where cool or intense task lighting is not required.

At 450 mm per side, the wall light has a clear visual presence on the wall. It is not a small, discreet accessory, but a piece that stands out. The 20W SMD LED light source is included and integrated into the lamp. No additional bulb needs to be purchased. The lamp is ready to be connected directly to the mains.

Does the opal glass diffuser protect against direct glare from the LED?

Yes. The opal glass acts as a diffusing screen and does not allow the LED source to be seen with the naked eye. The light emitted by the wall light is uniform and soft, with no concentrated bright spots.

Can this wall light be installed in a bathroom or kitchen with normal humidity?

The product is classified for indoor use. For a bathroom or kitchen, it is advisable to check whether the humidity conditions at the exact installation point are compatible with a standard indoor luminaire. In areas away from the shower or worktop there is usually no issue, but in areas of direct humidity it is recommended to check beforehand.
