Overview

The SAMBA wall light by FARO is a wall lamp designed for interior spaces where light serves both a functional and decorative role. Its combination of a matte black body with a green ribbon-trimmed shade gives it a character of its own, without the need for additional elements. It is a piece that fits well in bedrooms, living rooms and rest areas, and is also a solid option for hospitality projects: hotels, tourist apartments or accommodation spaces where details matter.

What sets this wall light apart is its balance between visual presence and discretion. It does not take up too much space on the wall, but its silhouette and the contrast of colours ensure it does not go unnoticed. The ribbon-trimmed fabric shade in green filters light softly, creating a warm and gentle atmosphere.

FARO is a Spanish brand with years of experience in interior and exterior lighting. Its collections combine aesthetic judgment with quality materials, and are designed for both residential use and professional projects.

Installation and specifications

For installation, a wall power outlet or wiring prepared at the point where the wall light will be fixed is required. Since this is a surface-mounted wall luminaire, installation requires anchoring the base directly to the wall using the appropriate fastening elements for the wall type (partition, brick, drywall). It is recommended that electrical installation be carried out by a qualified electrician, especially if the cable outlet from the wall needs to be prepared. Check that your installation voltage is compatible with the indicated range before connecting the lamp.

For maintenance, clean the steel surface with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that may damage the matte black finish. The fabric shade can be cleaned with a soft dry cloth. Do not wet the shade or expose the wall light to direct moisture. Before any cleaning or bulb replacement, always disconnect the power supply.

Design and use

The SAMBA wall light belongs to an interior lighting collection developed by Faro Lab, the brand's own design line. The ribbon-trimmed shade in green and the matte black steel body form a combination that feels coherent in contemporary interiors without falling into passing trends. It is a lamp that can look good for years without the space calling for a change.

The body is made of steel, a material that provides consistency and durability. The matte black finish avoids reflections and gives the wall light a sober presence, which contrasts with the green of the shade without creating visual tension. That contrast is precisely what makes this lamp interesting: two simple elements that together have more character than apart.

In a bedroom, the SAMBA wall light works well as ambient lighting or as a complement to the main lighting. Placed on either side of the headboard, it provides a directed and warm light that does not disturb rest. In a living room, it can accompany a sofa or define a reading area without overwhelming the space. It also fits in hallways where functional lighting with some personality is desired, without installing ceiling lights.

In the kitchen or dining room, the wall light can be used to enhance specific areas, such as a bar, a work corner or a wall that needs visual presence. It does not replace the main lighting, but complements it effectively. In the bathroom, provided it is installed in an area without direct exposure to water and the electrical installation complies with safety regulations for that environment, it can provide a more flattering side light than overhead lighting.

The use of an E27 LED bulb — not included — allows the colour temperature to be chosen according to the atmosphere desired. A warm light bulb will intensify the cosy effect of the green shade; a neutral light bulb will give a cleaner and more contemporary result. The maximum accepted power is 15 W, sufficient to illuminate a specific area without causing glare.

The dimensions of the wall light — 220 mm high, 220 mm long and 255 mm deep — place it in a compact yet impactful format. It is not a small piece that goes unnoticed, but it does not take up more space than necessary either. Its weight of 1.67 kg makes it manageable during installation.

In hospitality projects, the SAMBA wall light provides that touch of character that distinguishes a standard room from a thoughtfully designed space. The careful design of Faro Lab and the solidity of the steel make it an option also suited for continuous use and demanding environments. Hotel corridors or tourist apartment rooms benefit from a lamp that combines functionality and aesthetics without complicating maintenance.

Questions and answers

Does the SAMBA wall light include the E27 LED bulb or does it need to be purchased separately?

The bulb is not included. The wall light accepts an E27 base bulb with a maximum power of 15 W. You can choose the colour temperature that best suits the atmosphere you want to achieve in the space where you install it.

Is the wall light voltage compatible with the standard domestic electrical installation in Spain?

Yes. The wall light operates in a range of 100V to 240V, making it compatible with the standard mains voltage in Spain (230V) and with most European domestic installations.

Does the steel body with a matte black finish require any special care to maintain its appearance?

It is sufficient to clean it occasionally with a dry or slightly damp cloth. It is advisable to avoid abrasive cleaning products or those containing solvents, as they can deteriorate the matte finish over time.
