Overview

The MAY wall light by FARO is a circular-format wall lamp designed for installation in indoor spaces where warm, uniform light is sought without major complications. Its compact size makes it suitable for hallways, bedrooms, living rooms, kitchens, dining rooms, and bathrooms. The ability to mount it on both walls and ceilings makes it a practical solution when space does not allow for free choice.

What sets this lamp apart is the combination of a white lacquered steel body with an opal glass diffuser. The result is light that is distributed evenly, without brighter spots or sharp shadows. It includes an integrated LED source, so no additional components need to be purchased to get it up and running.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in lighting design and manufacturing. The MAY series was created by Faro Lab, its development division, with a focus on clean shapes and installation versatility.

Installation and specifications

Before installing the wall light, make sure the electricity is switched off at the distribution board. As a surface-mounted wall luminaire, the wiring must reach the intended fixing point. Check that the wall or ceiling provides a solid base for anchoring. If you have any doubts about the process, it is best to consult an electrician.

The white lacquered steel body can be cleaned with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could damage the finish. The glass diffuser may accumulate dust over time; simply remove it carefully and clean it separately. As a lamp with an integrated LED, it does not require bulb replacement during its normal service life.

Design and use

The MAY wall light has a circular silhouette of 120 mm in diameter and only 80 mm in depth. Its slim profile integrates well into walls without taking up visual space. The body is made of steel with a matte white finish, a neutral tone that suits both modern interiors and more understated, functional environments. The opal glass diffuser is the element that defines how the light is perceived: it filters and distributes it softly, without intense bright spots.

The 2700K color temperature produces warm light, close to traditional incandescent light. This type of lighting is particularly well suited to the bedroom, where a more relaxed atmosphere is desired, or to the dining room, where the warmth of the tone enhances the perception of the space and the colors of food. In the living room, it can be used as accent or ambient lighting, complementing a main light source.

In the kitchen, a wall light with these characteristics works well in transitional areas or above work surfaces where glare-free light is needed. Its wall-mounted installation allows it to be positioned close to countertops or alongside passageways without interfering with cabinets.

The IP44 protection rating makes it suitable for installation in the bathroom, always within the zones permitted by regulations. This considerably broadens its range of use: a single lamp can serve different rooms in the home, simplifying the choice when equipping several spaces at once.

In hallways, where space is often narrow and ceilings sometimes low, the MAY wall light fits in without complications. Since it can also be installed as a ceiling flush mount, it offers flexibility when wiring does not reach the wall or when the layout of the corridor makes this more practical. Hallways typically need continuous, well-distributed light, and the opal diffuser contributes exactly to that.

The integrated 4 W COB LED source consumes little energy and requires no maintenance. There is no need to worry about bulb type or compatibility, which simplifies setup. The wall light arrives ready to connect, with everything needed included.

The MAY series is available in five different finishes, making it easy to find the version that best matches the tones and materials of the space. White, in particular, is a finish that combines effortlessly with light-colored walls, natural wood, or decorative elements with simple lines. In interiors with a Nordic or minimalist style, this type of lamp works as a complement that does not distract but rather reinforces the coherence of the overall look.
