Overview

MAGRITTE is an adjustable wall light designed to illuminate paintings, photographs, or decorative objects. It mounts directly on the wall and directs light exactly where it is needed, without complex installations or elements that distract the eye. The result is clean: the lamp disappears and the illuminated object takes center stage.

It is a valid option for the living room, bedroom, hallway, or any room where there is something worth highlighting. The minimalist design in satin nickel allows it to integrate effortlessly into contemporary interiors, without competing with other elements in the space.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in lighting. Their products combine solid technical criteria with a refined aesthetic, and are designed for both domestic use and interior design projects.

Installation and specifications

For installation, an accessible power outlet is required in the wall area where the wall light will be fixed. Before starting, make sure to cut the power from the electrical panel. The wall light mounts directly onto the surface, following the included instructions. If you have no experience with electrical installations, it is most advisable to get help from an electrician.

To clean the lamp, a soft, dry cloth is sufficient. Avoid abrasive products or liquids that could damage the satin nickel finish or the PMMA diffuser. Do not touch the light source directly with your hands. Always disconnect the wall light from the power supply before performing any cleaning or adjustment.

Design and use

The MAGRITTE wall light is built from aluminium and steel, two materials that provide solidity without adding unnecessary weight. At just 630 grams, it mounts on the wall without complications and without requiring reinforced anchoring. The satin nickel finish gives it a discreet presence: visible, but without imposing itself.

The PMMA diffuser with opal finish distributes light softly, without bright spots or harsh contrasts. This is especially important when illuminating a work of art or a photograph, as overly hard light can create reflections or alter the perception of colours. With 3000K and a CRI above 80, warm tones and the nuances of the illuminated object are perceived naturally and faithfully.

The adjustable orientation is the central point of the design. Unlike a fixed wall light, MAGRITTE allows you to adjust the angle of the light to adapt it to the size and exact position of what you want to highlight. A narrow vertical painting, a wide horizontal composition, a sculpture in a niche: the focus can be adjusted in each case without changing the lamp.

At 600 mm in length, it covers even medium-format works well. It is not a small piece, but its slender profile and height of just 45 mm mean that its presence on the wall is minimal. Seen from the front, what you see is primarily the painting, not the wall light.

In the living room, it can be installed above a central decorative piece or above a series of aligned photographs. In the bedroom, it works well above the headboard if there is a decorative element that deserves its own light, or even to create a warmer atmosphere without relying on general lighting. In hallways, where lighting is usually functional and little thought-out, MAGRITTE can turn an everyday passage into a route with a certain character.

It also fits in spaces such as the dining room, where a work on the wall can be part of the atmosphere at the table, or in the bathroom, if there is a decorative element to be highlighted. In rooms with limited natural light, the 3000K temperature adds warmth without being excessive.

The minimalist design makes it compatible with many styles: from more modern and ordered interiors to spaces that mix elements from different eras. The satin nickel is not eye-catching, but it does not go unnoticed either: it has a material quality that is noticeable up close.

The driver is already included, which simplifies installation and avoids having to source additional components. The 12W LED source with 750 lumens offers sufficient intensity to illuminate clearly without saturating the space. It is a lamp that does its job well without adding visual noise to the surroundings.

Questions and answers

Does the MAGRITTE wall light allow the direction of light to be adjusted once installed?

Yes. The head is adjustable, so you can modify the angle of the light beam after installation to adapt it to the object you want to illuminate.

Is the LED driver included or does it need to be purchased separately?

The driver is included. You do not need to acquire any additional components to get the lamp up and running.

Does the opal PMMA diffuser affect the intensity of the light reaching the painting?

The diffuser softens the light to avoid glare and reflections, but the 750 lumens from the LED source are sufficient to clearly illuminate medium-format works under normal conditions.
