Installation and specifications

To install this wall light, it is recommended to have an existing power point on the wall, as the lamp requires direct connection to the wiring. It is fixed to a solid surface — brick wall, concrete or plasterboard with appropriate anchoring. It is advisable to have the installation carried out by an electrician, especially if the power point needs to be created or relocated. Before connecting, verify that the installation voltage is compatible with the indicated range of 100V–240V.

The papyrus shade does not tolerate cleaning with damp cloths or chemical products. For dust, use a soft brush or low-pressure compressed air. The black steel body can be cleaned with a slightly damp cloth and dried immediately. Do not expose the lamp to high-humidity environments for prolonged periods. Use only E27 LED bulbs with a maximum power of 15 W.

Design and use

LUANG was born as part of the Faro Lab collection inspired by the craftsmanship of Southeast Asia. In that region, artisans work with papyrus and other natural fibres to create objects that start from flat shapes and transform into complex volumes. The shade of this wall light follows that same logic: without an interior frame, the papyrus holds its own shape and, when the lamp is switched on, it is illuminated entirely from the inside out.

The structure of the wall light is made of steel with a matte black finish. Its geometry is straightforward, without ornamentation. This makes it contrast well with the organic shade, which has irregular edges and a texture that is not the same at any point. That tension between the rigid and the natural is what gives the piece its character.

This wall light uses an LED bulb with an E27 base and a maximum power of 15 W. The bulb is not included and must be purchased separately. A warm light option is recommended to make the most of the camel tone of the shade.

Can the black steel body deteriorate in a bathroom with steam?

Prolonged exposure to very humid environments can affect the finish of the body and the integrity of the papyrus shade. If installed in the bathroom, it is recommended to place it in an area away from direct steam and with good ventilation.
