Overview

The JOY wall light by FARO is a wall lamp designed for indoor lighting. Its round shape, opal glass diffuser and matt black finish make it a clear option for those looking for something functional with a touch of considered design. It doesn't distract, but it doesn't go unnoticed either.

This lamp fits well in a bedroom, hallway, living room or even a bathroom. It is compact, takes up no unnecessary visual space and emits a warm light that is pleasant at any time of day. The opal diffuser spreads the light gently, without creating shadow areas or direct glare.

FARO is a Spanish company with decades of experience in lighting. It works with in-house designers and takes care of both the finish and the performance of each product.

Installation and specifications

To install this wall light, the base must be fixed directly to the wall at the point where the electrical wiring arrives. Before starting, make sure the electricity is switched off at the fuse box. The wall light is mounted on a standard recessed box. If you have no experience with electrical installations, it is advisable to seek the help of an electrician.

The aluminium body requires no special maintenance. To clean the surface, use a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could damage the matt black finish. The glass diffuser can be cleaned with a soft cloth. Do not handle the lamp while the electricity is connected.

Design and use

The JOY wall light has a simple, well-resolved construction. The body is aluminium with a matt black finish, a material that stands the test of time well and does not deteriorate easily. The circular shape of the assembly, both the body and the glass diffuser, gives the lamp a clean look that does not visually overload the space where it is placed.

The opal glass is one of the elements that most influences the final result. It is not transparent, so the light source is not directly visible. This means the light comes out diffused and uniform, without creating annoying glare or areas of intense light. In a double bedroom or a single bedroom, that type of lighting is especially comfortable at night.

The colour temperature is 3000K, which corresponds to a warm light. It is not the cold white light of an office, but something closer to the light of a traditional incandescent lamp. That tone creates a more relaxed atmosphere, something that is particularly noticeable in the living room or dining room when natural light is no longer coming in.

As a wall light, it works well in different contexts. In the bathroom it can be placed on either side of the mirror to illuminate the face without shadows. In hallways it provides continuous light without the need for ceiling lamps. In the kitchen, if installed in the work area, it helps you see better without relying solely on general lighting.

In the living room or dining room, a wall light like this can be used as supporting light alongside other light sources. It is not intended to light an entire room as the primary source, but it complements a ceiling lamp or recessed lights well. It also works alongside dark furniture, where the matt black finish of the body integrates naturally.

The design of the JOY series was developed by Nahtrang, FARO's internal creative team. The ratio between the size of the wall light and the space it occupies on the wall is designed so that it does not feel excessive in medium or small-sized rooms. At just over 15 centimetres tall, it adapts without difficulty to walls with limited available space.

For those renovating a room without changing the entire colour scheme, matt black is a versatile option. It combines with white, grey or dark-toned walls. It also integrates well with metallic elements of other furniture or decorative accessories. It is a wall light that does not require you to organise the rest of the space around it.
