Overview

The DOMINICA XL wall light by FARO is a surface-mounted lamp designed for those looking for something with its own character. Its design draws references from the architectural movement that defined Chicago in the early twentieth century, where clean geometry and industrial forms coexisted with a clear sense of proportion. The result is a lamp that does not need to demand attention in order to have it.

It mounts directly onto the wall, with no additional structures or intermediate elements. It is a solid option for the living room, bedroom, dining room, or hallway, where a well-placed point light source can completely change the feel of a space. The beige finish on the main body and the black of the bracket create a combination that works equally well in industrial-style interiors and more contemporary settings.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in lighting. Its FARO Lab line brings together pieces with a strong design identity, aimed at spaces where the light fitting is part of the visual concept of the place.

Installation and specifications

Before installing the wall light, make sure the wall has an available electrical junction box and that the installation is disconnected from the power supply. The wall fixing system requires screws and plugs suited to the type of surface: brick, drywall, and concrete each have different requirements. It is recommended to have an electrician on hand if you have no prior experience with this type of installation. The E27 LED light source is not included, so you will need to purchase it separately before using the lamp.

To clean the steel body, use a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that may damage the finish. Always disconnect the lamp from the power supply before cleaning it or handling the bulb.

Design and use

The DOMINICA XL wall light has a presence that is felt before it is even switched on. The combination of the beige body with the black bracket does not seek to blend into the wall, but to occupy its place naturally. The steel structure conveys solidity without feeling visually heavy, and the geometric forms of the design give the whole a coherence that makes it easy to integrate into different types of interiors.

With a depth of 885 mm, it is a generously sized wall light that projects light broadly. This makes it a suitable option for large spaces such as the living room or dining room, where a single well-positioned lamp can cover a reading area, a table, or a seating corner. In the bedroom it works as a side light next to the bed, freeing the bedside table from any extra elements.

In longer hallways, this type of wall light makes a great deal of sense. It provides directed light without requiring a ceiling installation, and its geometric profile adds visual rhythm along the corridor. In medium or large bathrooms, placed at the right height beside the mirror, it can serve as primary or supplementary lighting. Also in bathrooms with a certain character, where metallic finishes and neutral tones predominate, it fits in without forcing the overall look.

The industrial style of the design does not limit it to a single type of space. It works equally well in an apartment with polished concrete floors as in a home with whitewashed walls and wooden furniture. The key is that beige and black are tones that do not compete with almost any color palette. If the rest of the furniture has straight lines and natural or metallic materials, the DOMINICA XL wall light finds its place effortlessly.

The E27 LED light source allows you to choose the color temperature according to the use of the space. Warm light in the bedroom or living room creates a more intimate atmosphere. A more neutral light can be useful in work areas or in the dining room when a more functional illumination is sought. Being LED, consumption remains low with a maximum power of 15 W.

The steel body finish with black paint on the bracket delivers a result that holds up well over time with basic cleaning. It requires no special maintenance beyond dusting regularly. It is a lamp that is modern in its conception, but with aesthetic references that give it a depth that goes beyond seasonal trends.

Questions and answers

Can the DOMINICA XL wall light be installed on any type of wall, including drywall or masonry partitions?

Yes, it can be installed on different types of surfaces, but the type of fixing must be adapted to the wall material. Drywall requires specific plugs for this substrate, while masonry or brick walls use standard plugs. It is best to consult an electrician before installation.

Is the E27 LED light source included with the wall light?

No, the E27 LED bulb is not included in the packaging. You will need to purchase it separately. The maximum accepted power is 15 W, and the compatible voltage ranges from 100V to 240V.

Does the 885 mm depth significantly affect the space where it is installed?

That is the most notable dimension of the wall light, and it is worth keeping in mind when choosing the location. In narrow hallways it can be a considerable measurement, so it is recommended to install it in areas where there is sufficient free space in front of the wall.
