Overview

The COTTON wall light by FARO is a wall-mounted luminaire designed for those looking for a light source with its own character within the home. Its square body in matte white and its fabric shade give it a clean, balanced look, without drawing too much attention or getting lost in the surroundings. It is a lamp that fits well in both more intimate spaces and transitional areas.

This wall light works well in a bedroom as a bedside light, in a living room as supplementary lighting, or in a hallway where light needs to be distributed along the wall. It can also be used in a guest room or in a bathroom if installed in an area protected from direct moisture.

FARO is a lighting company with experience in the sector. Its products combine functionality with careful design, intended to integrate into different types of interiors without complications.

Installation and specifications

To install this wall light, a power outlet is required in the chosen area, or prior wiring must be carried out with the help of an electrician. The wall light is fixed directly to the wall using the appropriate anchors for the type of surface. Before beginning installation, make sure the power is switched off. The E27 LED bulb is not included, so it is advisable to have it ready before installation. The luminaire is compatible with voltages between 100V and 240V, making it suitable for use in different countries.

The fabric shade requires gentle care. To clean it, simply wipe with a dry or slightly damp cloth without rubbing hard. Abrasive products should not be used, and it should not be wetted directly. The matte white steel body can be cleaned with a soft, dry cloth to keep the finish in good condition. It is not recommended to place this luminaire in areas where it is exposed to high humidity or direct water splashes.

Design and use

The COTTON wall light has a square shape that gives it an orderly presence on the wall. The body is made of steel with a matte white finish, a color that integrates easily with light-colored walls and also contrasts discreetly against darker tones. It is neither an overly ornate nor an extremely minimalist lamp: it has volume and texture thanks to the fabric shade, but without taking up too much space. With a depth of 100 mm and a length of 370 mm, it looks proportionate on standard walls without appearing out of place.

The fabric shade is one of the elements that most defines this lamp. Unlike glass or plastic shades, fabric filters light in a softer way, creating a warm atmosphere in the room. It does not project direct, concentrated beams of light, but instead diffuses the illumination evenly around the wall light. This makes it particularly useful in areas where direct LED light can feel harsh, such as a bedroom or a living room.

In the bedroom, this wall light can be placed on either side of the bed as a substitute for table lamps. It takes up less space on the nightstand and distributes light more evenly over the reading or resting area. In a living room, it can be combined with a central light to create different planes of illumination, something that adds depth to the space without the need for major changes.

In the kitchen or dining room, the COTTON wall light can serve as decorative lighting on a side wall or as a supporting light source near a work area or a table. It is not designed to be the only source of light in a kitchen, but it can complement other luminaires and add warmth to the atmosphere.

In the bathroom, it can be installed in the washroom area on the wall, as long as the recommended distances from water sources are respected. In hallways, it is practical for marking the direction of travel and preventing dark spots between separate light points. Two wall lights placed at regular intervals in a long hallway give a balanced and modern result.

The square design of this wall light works well with straight-lined furniture. It can also appear alongside wooden elements, picture frames, or shelving without creating visual discord. It is a lamp that is modern in form, but without reaching a strongly industrial style, which allows it to adapt to contemporary, Nordic, or transitional interiors.

Questions and answers

Is the E27 LED bulb included with the COTTON wall light?

No, the light source is not included. It is necessary to purchase separately an E27 LED screw-cap bulb with a maximum power of 15 W.

Does the fabric shade allow the bulb to be seen from the outside?

The shade filters the light and reduces the direct visibility of the bulb, although the level of opacity depends on the type of fabric. In general, it diffuses the light point and softens the visual effect.

Is this wall light suitable for installation in humid bathrooms?

The COTTON wall light does not have moisture resistance certification, so it should not be placed in areas where it may receive direct splashes. In bathrooms, it is recommended to install it on walls away from the shower or washbasin.
