Overview

The ARTIS wall light by FARO is a wall lamp with an integrated reader in a chrome finish. It is designed to illuminate bedrooms and living rooms where functional lighting is needed without disrupting the atmosphere of the space. The beige shade filters the light softly, without visual harshness.

The design is by Alex & Manel Lluscà, a studio with experience in lighting for both the home and hospitality projects. The result is a lamp that works equally well in a hotel room and in a private bedroom. FARO is a brand with a long track record in interior lighting, and the ARTIS family is one of its bets on a style that never goes out of fashion.

What sets this wall light apart is the combination of the adjustable reader with a chrome steel body and a beige shade. That mix allows it to be used as bedside lighting or as a complementary lighting point in a living room or hallway.

Installation and specifications

This wall light is fixed directly to the wall. Before installation, it is advisable to locate a point with existing wiring or plan the electrical outlet where it will be placed. The steel body requires anchors suitable for the type of wall, whether plasterboard, brick, or concrete. Installation must be carried out by a qualified electrician. Remember that the E27 LED bulb is not included and must be purchased separately before using the wall light.

For cleaning, a dry or slightly damp cloth on the chrome body is sufficient. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could damage the finish. The beige shade can be cleaned with a soft cloth without getting it too wet. Do not handle the lamp with the power connected.

Design and use

The ARTIS wall light has a discreet presence on the wall, but with a finish that stands out. The chrome steel body reflects light without drawing too much attention, making it compatible with interiors of different styles. It is not a lamp that imposes its aesthetic on the space, but rather adapts to what is already there.

The beige shade adds a warm touch to the whole. When the light is on, the shade's tone softens the brightness and creates a more welcoming atmosphere than direct light. This makes it especially useful in a bedroom or a living room where harsh lighting is not desired. It also works well in a hallway, as it provides enough light without glare.

The integrated reader is one of the most practical features of this model. It allows the light beam to be directed wherever it is needed at any given moment, which is useful on a bedside table or in a reading nook. In a double bedroom, for example, it allows one person to read without disturbing the other with the room's general lighting.

The dimensions of the wall light, at 390 mm high and 221 mm deep, give it a moderate presence on the wall. It is not a small model, but it does not take up too much visual space either. It works well on medium-sized walls, both in larger rooms and in tighter spaces.

The chrome finish makes it compatible with other metallic elements in the surroundings: handles, frames, ceiling lamps with similar finishes. It also combines with surfaces such as light wood or white lacquered finishes, which are common in modern-style bedrooms and living rooms. For those who prefer a more neutral design, chrome is a finish that does not create contrasts that are difficult to resolve.

The ARTIS family is also designed for settings such as hotels or tourist apartments, where the wall light with reader is a common feature beside the bed. In that context, the durability of the steel and the elegant design are two qualities that make a difference compared to more economical models. But the same applies in a private home where a stable and good-looking lighting solution is sought.

In bathrooms with sufficient space and no direct humidity, this type of wall light can be used as complementary lighting, although it is advisable to confirm with an installer whether the specific placement point is suitable. In long hallways, placing one or two wall lights of this type at the same height gives a neat and functional result.
