Overview

The SAMBA table lamp by FARO is a desktop luminaire designed for interior spaces where a functional light source with its own visual character is sought. Its combination of a matte black body and yellow shade makes it a recognizable piece that does not go unnoticed. It works well both on a bedside table and on a desk, and effortlessly adapts to residential environments or hospitality projects.

The SAMBA collection was born from FARO's in-house design studio, a Spanish brand with decades of experience in professional and residential lighting. The firm works with durability and aesthetic consistency in mind, focusing on products that fit into real environments, not just catalog photographs.

What sets this lamp apart is the clarity of its concept: a well-resolved steel body, a golden shade in yellow that visually warms any corner, and a size that does not take up too much space on the surface where it is placed.

Installation and specifications

To place this table lamp correctly, simply set it on a stable surface: a side table, a dresser, a desk, or any piece of furniture that can support its weight. No anchoring or tools are required. Before plugging it in, make sure the installation wiring is compatible with the indicated voltage range (100V–240V). The lamp does not include a bulb, so it is advisable to have an E27 LED type bulb of up to 15 W ready before installing it.

To clean the steel body, use a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could damage the matte black finish. The yellow shade requires the same care: a soft cloth is sufficient. Do not wet the electrical connections or handle the lamp with wet hands. When changing the bulb, first disconnect the cable from the power supply.

Design and use

The SAMBA mini lamp is a tabletop piece that combines a matte black steel body with a yellow shade. That shade, which visually resembles a ribbon or fringe, projects filtered, warm light into the immediate surroundings. It does not illuminate an entire room, but rather creates a specific, directed point of light that transforms the atmosphere of the table or corner where it is placed.

The body is made of steel, which gives it solidity without adding unnecessary bulk. With a weight of 1.67 kg and dimensions of 360 mm in height by 215 mm at the base, the lamp has a physical presence without being voluminous. It fits comfortably on a bedside table without blocking space for other objects. On a desk it also works well: it does not interfere with the work area and adds a lateral or ambient light source.

In the living room, this table lamp finds its place on a console table, a sideboard, or an occasional table. In dining room settings, it can complement general lighting by creating more intimate zones. The golden shade — the warm yellow of the ribbon shade — introduces a color accent that pairs well with natural woods, black or white surfaces, and also with metallic elements in bronze or brass.

The SAMBA collection is also designed for hospitality projects: hotels, restaurants, coworking spaces with rest areas. In such environments, a table lamp with visual personality helps define the atmosphere without the need for major interventions. The mini format makes it versatile: it does not impose, but it does make a statement.

Although it is not a golden lamp in the strict sense, the yellow of its shade creates that warm visual sensation that is often sought with golden finishes. The light filtered through the shade creates an effect similar to that of classic shade lamps, with that almost vintage character that fits in eclectic interiors or in bedrooms where a relaxed atmosphere is desired at night.

The ribbon shade of the lamp has a textile component that softens the light output. It does not glare directly, but rather distributes the brightness in a diffuse manner. This makes it comfortable for reading on the bedside table or working at night at the desk without straining the eyes.

The lamp uses an E27 socket, the most common on the market. This makes it easy to find the right bulb and allows the color temperature to be adjusted according to use: a warmer LED for the living room or bedroom, a more neutral one for the desk. The maximum power of 15 W is sufficient for the type of lighting this piece offers.

Questions and answers

Does the SAMBA table lamp include an E27 LED bulb?

No, the bulb is not included. You need to purchase separately an E27 LED type bulb with a maximum power of 15 W. It is a standard socket that is easy to find in any lighting or electronics store.

Is the matte black steel body resistant to scratches or signs of use?

The matte black finish of the steel body is durable under normal indoor use conditions. To keep it in good condition, it is recommended to clean it with a dry or slightly damp cloth and avoid abrasive products that could deteriorate the surface over time.

Is this table lamp compatible with 110V electrical installations?

Yes. The voltage range of this lamp is 100V to 240V, so it works both with standard European 220–240V installations and with the 110V installations common in the Americas. No voltage adapter is needed.
