Overview

The MONTREAL lamp by FARO is a table lamp designed for those looking for a specific light source without sacrificing style. Its beige fabric shade and matte white steel base form a calm combination that fits well in a living room, an entryway, or a corner that needs focused lighting.

It is a table lamp that works equally well on a bedside table, on a desk, or on a hallway dresser. Its height of 540 mm gives it enough presence without taking up too much space. The MONTREAL collection was born with a practical detail: a small hook at the top of the structure, which refreshes a classic line with a functional touch.

FARO is a brand with an established track record in the lighting industry. Its collections are aimed at both residential projects and hospitality and office spaces, with a clear focus on design and durability.

Installation and specifications

No special tools are needed to install this lamp. Simply place it on the chosen surface, connect the cable to a standard power outlet, and insert an E27 LED bulb of up to 15 W, which is not included. Make sure the outlet is in good condition before connecting it.

To clean the steel base, use a slightly damp cloth and dry it afterwards. The beige fabric shade can be cleaned with a dry cloth or a soft brush. Avoid abrasive products or liquids directly on the fabric. Do not handle the bulb while the lamp is on, and do not leave it on without a bulb installed.

Design and use

The MONTREAL lamp has a steel structure with a matte white finish, giving it a clean, understated appearance. The matte white does not reflect light aggressively, so the lamp integrates easily with light-colored walls or in combination with neutral-toned furniture. The shade is made of beige fabric, which filters light softly and creates a warm atmosphere in the space where it is placed.

On a bedside table, this lamp serves its purpose well. It provides enough light for reading without disturbing the rest of the room, and its size does not overwhelm a typically small surface. The cable allows it to be placed with some freedom from the power outlet, making it easy to position in the bedroom without depending on the exact location of the socket.

On a desk it also makes sense. The light it projects through the fabric shade illuminates the work area without creating harsh shadows. It is a discreet option for those who prefer ambient lighting on the desk rather than a direct task lamp. It is not an industrial lamp, nor strictly a Nordic one, but its clean lines make it compatible with contemporary styles as well as more classic interiors.

In the living room it can be used as focused lighting on a console table or sideboard. That corner that remains dark between two pieces of furniture or next to a sofa finds a simple solution in this lamp. The MONTREAL collection is designed precisely for this type of use: localized lighting at specific points in a residential project or a hospitality space.

The beige fabric shade plays an important role in the final result. Beige is a warm tone that softens the white light of the LED and creates a more welcoming atmosphere than a glass or transparent plastic shade would. In a room with little natural light, that nuance makes a difference. In a dining room or a corner of the living room, the lamp adds a touch of warmth without imposing a specific style.

The hook incorporated into the structure at the top is a detail that sets the collection apart. It does not alter the function of the table lamp, but it opens up additional possibilities for use or display. It is the kind of element that does not catch the eye at first glance, but is there when you need it.

The lamp weighs 1.67 kg, so it stays stable on smooth surfaces without the risk of tipping over easily. Its diameter of 220 mm makes it proportional on both small bedside tables and larger surfaces.

Questions and answers

Does the MONTREAL lamp include an E27 LED bulb?

No, the bulb is not included. You need to purchase separately a bulb with an E27 base and a maximum power of 15 W. It is recommended to use an LED bulb to make the most of energy efficiency.

Does the beige fabric shade affect the tone of the light emitted by the lamp?

Yes. The fabric shade filters the light and gives it a warmer, more diffused tone. This makes the lighting softer than a glass shade would produce, which is especially useful in spaces where a calm atmosphere is desired.

Is it possible to use this lamp in both Europe and countries with different voltage?

Yes. The lamp is compatible with a voltage range of 100V to 240V, making it suitable for use in most countries without the need for additional voltage adapters.
