Overview

The MATILDA table lamp by Faro Barcelona is a piece designed for those who seek visual order in their space. Its geometric silhouette and black finish make it an element that does not compete with its surroundings, but complements them effortlessly. It works well in a bedroom, on a bedside table, on a work desk, or in any corner where you need a direct and discreet light source.

The adjustable shade allows you to direct the beam of light exactly where you need it, without moving the entire lamp. The ability to adjust the height adds real flexibility: you can adapt the light point to different situations throughout the day. This is not a minor detail in a table lamp.

Faro Barcelona has been developing interior luminaires for decades. The MATILDA collection reflects that experience in every line: solid materials, clean geometry, and predictable long-term performance.

Installation and specifications

Installing this lamp does not require fixed electrical wiring. Simply place it on a stable surface — a side table, a dresser, or a desk — and plug it into a standard outlet. The socket is E14, so before using it you will need to purchase an LED bulb compatible with that format and with a maximum power of 15 W. The lamp is suitable for voltages between 100 V and 240 V, making it compatible with the electrical grid of most countries.

To clean the steel structure, use a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that may affect the black finish. Do not wet the electrical components and always unplug the lamp before cleaning it or changing the bulb. Do not exceed the indicated maximum power of 15 W.

Design and use

The body of the MATILDA lamp is made of black lacquered steel. It is a material that provides rigidity without adding unnecessary weight, and the matte black finish gives it a clean look that does not easily show marks. The geometric structure has no superfluous curves: every angle is designed so that the whole piece looks visually solid, even though the item itself weighs less than two kilograms.

The adjustable shade is the most functional element of this lamp. You can tilt it toward the book you are reading, toward the wall to create a diffused reflection, or center it over the work surface. This adjustment capability is especially useful at a desk, where the direction of light changes depending on the task. On a bedside table, it allows you to read without disturbing the person next to you.

The height adjustment adds another level of control. Not all surfaces are the same height, and not every situation calls for the same light position. This lamp adapts to that without complications.

As for the spaces where it fits, the MATILDA works very well on a bedroom bedside table. The dark line contrasts with bedding in light tones and creates a calm visual balance. In a dining room, placed on a sideboard or a side console, it provides ambient light that complements the central lighting. In a living room, it can serve as a secondary light point on an auxiliary table or a low piece of furniture.

The table lamp format also makes it useful in work spaces. On a desk, the lamp offers directed light without taking up too much lateral space. Its geometric silhouette pairs well with environments featuring straight lines and understated design furniture.

From an aesthetic point of view, black is a color that connects well with many styles. In a Nordic or industrial-style interior, the lamp fits naturally. In more classic spaces, it acts as a clean contrast without appearing discordant. It is not a golden or ceramic lamp; it does not seek to be the focal point of the room: it is a piece that works in the background and fulfills its function well.

Compatibility with E14 LED bulbs is a practical advantage. Consumption remains low and the bulb's lifespan is long, reducing the need for frequent intervention. The light produced by an LED of these characteristics is stable and does not flicker, which is more comfortable during long reading or work sessions.

In short, the MATILDA lamp by Faro is a solid option for those who want a functional table light with a refined finish and no distracting decorative elements. It performs well on a bedside table, on a desk, or in any corner of a dining room or living room where you need a stable, adjustable light point.

Questions and answers

Can the shade of the MATILDA lamp be moved independently of the arm?

Yes. The shade is independently adjustable, allowing you to direct the light in different directions without needing to change the position of the lamp body.

What type of bulb do I need to buy for this lamp?

The lamp uses an E14 socket and supports a maximum power of 15 W. The bulb is not included, so you will need to purchase it separately. It is recommended to use an LED bulb compatible with that socket.

Is it possible to adjust the height of the lamp arm?

Yes. The structure allows the height to be adjusted, making it easy to adapt the light point to different surfaces and lighting needs.
