Overview

Overview

The FARO PLAS lamp is a wall recessed luminaire with a plaster body and white finish. It is installed directly on the surface, with no visible frames or additional accessories. The result is a clean line that integrates into the wall as if it had always been there.

This wall light works well in hallways, bedrooms, bathrooms and staircases. In transit spaces such as a hallway or staircase, it provides light without occupying visual space. In a bedroom or bathroom, it delivers a warm 3000K light that is easy on the eyes and does not distort the surrounding colours.

The included LED technology consumes only 3W and operates over a wide voltage range. There is no need to purchase bulbs separately. FARO is a brand specialising in interior and exterior lighting, with a long track record in designing luminaires for residential use.

Installation and specifications

Before installing this wall light, check that the wall is dry and free of irregularities in the fixing area. As the body is made of plaster, handle it carefully during installation to avoid chipping the edges. The electrical connection must be carried out by a qualified electrician. Verify that the installation is compatible with the indicated voltage range before connecting.

For cleaning, use a soft, slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that may damage the plaster surface. Do not wet the area where the cables connect. Always disconnect the power before cleaning or handling the luminaire.

Design and use

The PLAS wall light has a rectangular shape and a slim profile of 50mm depth. This makes it compatible with walls where excessive projection is undesirable. The plaster body allows the surface to absorb wall paint if you wish to visually integrate it into the finish of the space. It is a common choice when you want the lamp to go unnoticed during the day and fulfil its function when switched on.

The 3000K colour temperature produces a warm light, close to the tone of traditional halogen. In a bedroom, that type of light creates a calmer atmosphere than neutral white. In a bathroom, it avoids the clinical effect given by cool lighting. In a staircase or hallway, where lighting is usually functional, the warm tone makes transit more pleasant without sacrificing visibility.

The included high-power LED consumes 3W. For a wall luminaire used as supplementary or accent lighting, that figure is sufficient. This is not the main light source for a large room, but rather a wall light designed for specific areas where directed or ambient light is needed without excess.

The size is compact: 245mm high, 105mm long and 50mm deep. It fits in recesses where other luminaires would not. On a staircase, for example, that rectangular format makes integration between steps easier. In a bathroom, it can be placed on either side of the mirror without taking up more space than necessary. In a narrow hallway, the low relief prevents the lamp from interfering with movement.

The white finish is neutral by definition. It combines effortlessly with light-coloured walls, stone cladding or materials such as light wood. It also works in more contemporary interiors, where the white of the wall light interacts with geometric lines and smooth surfaces. In an entrance hall or the entry of a home, that type of luminaire adds a light point without overloading the space.

Plaster is a porous and lightweight material that, in recessed lighting, has a practical advantage: it can be painted to match exactly the colour of the wall. This sets it apart from metal or plastic wall lights, which always retain their own finish. If the lighting project seeks total integration, the plaster body allows that level of detail.

The brand FARO has developed this range for interior lighting projects where design and functionality coexist without one cancelling out the other. The PLAS luminaire is part of that philosophy: discreet in form, effective in function.

There are spaces in a home where recessed lighting makes more sense than any other solution. The hallway is one of them. A centralised ceiling lamp leaves shadows on the sides; by contrast, a series of recessed wall lights along the wall distributes light more evenly and guides movement in a natural way. The recessed format of PLAS fits well within that logic: it sits at eye level, projects outward without glare and does not compete with other decorative elements.

On the staircase, the recessed fitting has an additional function: marking level changes. A lamp placed at the correct height on each flight illuminates the floor and steps without creating backlighting. The elongated shape of the PLAS wall light, at 245mm high, allows the beam to be oriented so that the lower plane is well covered. It is a solution seen in residential projects where the staircase also has a decorative role, not just a functional one.

In terms of compatibility with the surroundings, the PLAS lamp adapts well to Nordic, minimalist or contemporary style interiors. The white body and absence of ornamentation mean the luminaire does not impose a style, but rather adjusts to the one that already exists. In a space with earth-tone finishes, the white of the wall light acts as a clean contrast. In entirely white interiors, it disappears into the wall and only the effect of the light is perceived.

The feeling that this type of recessed lighting generates in daily life is difficult to describe precisely, but it is recognisable: absence of visual saturation, walls that are not broken up by bulky fittings, and a light that accompanies without imposing. It is not the lighting that takes centre stage in the space, but the one that makes the space feel complete. In a bedroom, that can make the difference between an atmosphere that invites rest and one that simply fulfils its function.

The PLAS wall light also works as an accent element in areas where you want to highlight a texture or material. An exposed brick wall, a wood panel or a microcement cladding gain presence when a modern recessed fitting illuminates them from a lateral angle. Grazing light enhances the relief of the surface and adds depth to the whole. In that context, the wall light is not just a light source, but part of the visual result of the space.

Questions and answers

Can the plaster body be painted to match the colour of the wall?

Yes. Plaster accepts standard wall paint. If you want the wall light to integrate completely into the wall, you can paint it once installed using the same shade you use on the surface.

Is the LED light source included or does it need to be purchased separately?

The luminaire includes the high-power LED at 3000K. No additional bulb is required. The system comes ready to connect.

What are the exact dimensions of the wall light and how much space does it take up on the wall?

The wall light measures 245mm high, 105mm long and has a depth of 50mm. It is a slim-profile piece, suitable for walls where excessive projection is undesirable.
