Overview

LOX is a round recessed aluminium downlight manufactured by Faro Barcelona. It is installed in the ceiling and provides clean, concentrated lighting without taking up any visual space. The design is very simple: a circular shape that fits in without drawing attention, yet performs its function well.

This lamp is intended primarily for commercial spaces, although its discreet profile also makes it suitable for areas of the home where an integrated and neat ceiling light is desired. In a kitchen, dining room, hallway or bedroom, the recessed fitting disappears visually and lets the rest of the environment take centre stage.

Faro Barcelona has been developing interior lighting solutions for decades. It is a brand known for its attention to manufacturing detail and for offering products with a modern design that fits different types of space.

Installation and specifications

For installation, it is necessary to prepare an opening in the ceiling with a diameter compatible with the dimensions of the recessed fitting. As it is a ceiling recessed lamp, it is recommended to have a false ceiling or adequate cable routing. The electrical connection must be carried out by a qualified professional. Before any work, make sure to cut the power at the electrical panel.

For maintenance, simply clean the surface with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Do not use abrasive products or solvents that could damage the white finish or the plastic material of the cover. Avoid direct contact with water on the electrical components.

Design and use

The LOX recessed fitting has a body made of aluminium combined with PC, making it both lightweight and resistant. The aluminium provides structural stability and dissipates the heat generated by the LED effectively, while the PC plastic helps protect the internal components. The whole unit weighs just 0.14 kg, which greatly facilitates handling during installation.

The finish is white, a colour that integrates naturally into ceilings painted in neutral tones, which is most common in residential and commercial interiors. There are no added decorative elements: the shape is circular, the lines are clean, and the result is a downlight that does not distract.

The light source is COB LED, included with the product. This type of LED concentrates several diodes into a single point, generating uniform, flicker-free light. The colour temperature is 3000K, which corresponds to warm light. This tone creates a calm and pleasant atmosphere, especially in spaces where visual comfort is desired. In a well-lit kitchen with these lights, the colours of the materials look natural, without the coldness produced by higher colour temperatures.

The total diameter is 85 mm, making it a compact recessed fitting. This measurement allows it to be installed in ceilings with limited available space, such as false ceilings with narrow profiles. The height of just 70 mm confirms that the body does not protrude too much once installed. In rooms with low ceilings, this makes a difference: a pendant lamp could create a sense of claustrophobia, while a recessed downlight like this maintains the visual spaciousness of the room.

In a dining room, several LOX recessed fittings distributed evenly above the work table generate balanced lighting without strong shadows. In a bedroom, they can be placed in the reading area or on either side of the bed to replace bedside lamps. The neutral style of the product allows it to be combined with different types of furniture, from Nordic-style environments to more contemporary interiors.

In spaces such as a bar counter or commercial display counter, this type of ceiling recessed fitting works well to highlight work surfaces without adding visual elements that compete with the rest of the venue's design. The warm light at 3000K helps materials, products or food look well lit and appealing.

It is also a coherent option for corridors, changing rooms, utility rooms or transition areas in offices or commercial premises. Its modern profile and compact size allow several units to be installed in a row without the result looking cluttered. In fact, discretion is its greatest virtue: when switched on, what is perceived is the light, not the lamp itself.

When combined with other lights of similar characteristics, the overall look remains tidy and coherent. For white or light-coloured ceilings, the white finish of the body makes the recessed fitting practically invisible during the day, and only noticeable when it is switched on.

Questions and answers

What type of light source does the LOX use and is it included in the product?

The LOX incorporates a COB LED light source, which is already included. There is no need to purchase any additional bulb to use it.

What is the diameter of the hole required in the ceiling to install this recessed fitting?

The total diameter of the recessed fitting is 85 mm. For installation, the opening in the ceiling must match this measurement. We recommend confirming the exact cutout dimensions with the installer before making the hole.

Is the 3000K colour temperature suitable for everyday living spaces in the home?

Yes. 3000K corresponds to warm light, similar to traditional incandescent light. It is a comfortable temperature for bedrooms, dining rooms and kitchens, where a welcoming atmosphere is desired without overly intense or cold light.
