Overview

LOX is an aluminum recessed ceiling light manufactured by Faro Barcelona. Its circular shape and matte black finish give it a clean look, free of distracting elements. It is a lamp designed to blend into the ceiling without drawing attention to itself — what matters is the light it projects, not the fixture itself.

It adapts well to commercial spaces: shops, showrooms, corridors, and reception areas. It also works in home environments where discreet, focused lighting is desired — kitchen, dining room, hallway, or bedroom. Being a recessed fixture, it takes up no visual space and allows the rest of the interior to breathe more freely.

Faro Barcelona is a Spanish company with decades of experience in lighting design and manufacturing. Their products combine functionality with a consistent aesthetic sensibility. LOX is a good example of that philosophy: no ornamentation, no complexity, with a visual result that fits modern spaces.

Installation and specifications

To install this recessed ceiling light, a hole must be prepared in the false ceiling according to the specified dimensions. Since it operates at 36V, a compatible external driver is required — consult an electrician if you are unsure of the type of power supply available in your installation. It is advisable to plan the layout of multiple units before making the cutouts, in order to achieve uniform lighting in the space.

To clean the lamp, use a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could damage the black aluminum finish. Always disconnect the power before handling the fixture. Do not touch the COB LED source directly.

Design and use

LOX is a recessed lamp with a modern and very restrained design. The body is aluminum with a black finish, and the PC diffuser allows a warm light distribution — 2700K — that is pleasant in spaces where time is spent. It is not cold or clinical lighting. It is the kind of light that makes a dining room or bedroom feel welcoming without resorting to more complex solutions.

The 60 mm diameter is one of the key features of this recessed fixture. It is a compact size that makes installation easier even in false ceilings with limited cavity space. At the same time, it allows multiple units to be placed on the same ceiling without the result looking cluttered. In a kitchen, for example, they can be distributed above the countertop or island to illuminate work areas precisely. In a dining room, they can be grouped above the table to create a warm light focus that defines the space without the need for a pendant lamp.

The black finish gives this ceiling light a sober character that integrates well in modern or industrial-style interiors. Against a white ceiling it creates a subtle but present contrast. On dark ceilings, it blends in almost completely. This versatility makes it a coherent option for both residential renovations and interior design projects in commercial premises.

In bedrooms, small-format recessed lights like LOX allow bulkier solutions to be replaced. A well-distributed group of ceiling lights can illuminate the entire room with a clean result. It is also possible to combine them with indirect lighting or a bedside lamp to create different atmospheres depending on the time of day. Bedrooms with low ceilings benefit especially from this type of installation, as no usable height is lost.

In commercial spaces, modern recessed lights provide a polished image without major investment. A bar counter, a customer service desk, or a product display area can gain a great deal from well-planned spot lighting. LOX, given its size and color temperature, fits well in those contexts. Warm light improves the perception of the space and the objects on display, without generating the cold effect produced by other higher-temperature sources.

The aluminum body ensures good heat dissipation from the COB LED. This is important for the longevity of the light source, which is already included. There is no need to look for compatible bulbs or worry about the type of cap. The lamp arrives ready to install, which simplifies the process from the start.

In terms of the overall style of the space, LOX pairs well with materials such as concrete, dark wood, matte metal, and lacquered finishes. In a modern design home, this type of recessed fixture acts as part of the general lighting system without imposing any particular aesthetic. It is a background element that does its job well.

Modern recessed lights have gained prominence in recent renovations precisely for this reason: they allow lighting to be designed with more freedom, without depending on a central light point. LOX, with its compact format and modern design, is a practical option within that category.

Questions and answers

Is an external driver required to install this recessed fixture, given that it operates at 36V?

Yes. The LOX lamp operates at 36V, so it requires a compatible external driver to transform the mains voltage. This component is not included in the box and must be purchased separately. If you have any doubts about the installation, consult an electrician.

Can the included COB LED be replaced if it fails?

The COB LED source is integrated into the lamp and is designed for a long service life. In the event of failure, the recommended course of action is to contact customer service, as it is not a directly replaceable component like a conventional bulb.

How much cavity space does this ceiling light require in the false ceiling?

The total height of the recessed fixture is 70 mm, which is the dimension that must fit inside the ceiling. Before making the cutout, verify that you have that free space above the surface of the false ceiling.
