Overview

The FARO recessed luminaire is a ceiling lamp designed to integrate without drawing attention. It disappears into the ceiling and does its job: illuminating a specific point in the space with precision. It is a valid option for the kitchen, bedroom, dining room, hallway, or any room where clean lighting is desired without hanging elements that take up visual space.

The matte white finish allows the lamp to blend in with white or light-colored ceilings. The design is square and compact, without ornaments, which allows it to be used in modern-style environments or in renovations where an orderly and neutral result is sought. The IP44 protection also makes it a good choice for areas with humidity, such as the bathroom or areas near the kitchen where there is steam.

FARO is a brand with a track record in home lighting. Its products are aimed at residential use and are characterized by solid construction with proven materials.

Installation and specifications

Before installing the lamp, check that the opening in the ceiling has the right dimensions for the 89 x 89 mm body. Cut the opening carefully and make sure the interior space is sufficient for the 55 mm deep body. The connection must be made with the power off. If you do not have experience with electrical work, the safest option is to have it done by an electrician. The lamp is compatible with voltages from 100 V to 240 V, so there is no adaptation issue in standard European installations. Remember that the GU10 LED bulb is not included and must be purchased separately.

To clean the lamp, use a dry or slightly damp cloth on the steel body. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that may damage the matte white finish. Do not handle the bulb with freshly washed hands or with moisture on your fingers. Periodically check that the frame remains properly fitted in the ceiling and that there is no looseness. The IP44 protection guards against splashes, but the lamp must not be submerged or exposed to direct jets of water.

Design and use

The square recessed luminaire from FARO is made of steel, a material that provides rigidity and durability to the whole. The body is compact, with dimensions of 89 x 89 mm in plan and 55 mm in height, allowing it to be installed even in ceilings with limited interior space. Once fitted, all that remains visible is the square matte white frame, perfectly flush with the ceiling.

This type of lamp fits well in spaces where directed lighting is desired without sacrificing an orderly aesthetic result. In the living room, for example, a row of aligned recessed lights can be used to create a continuous line of light above a piece of furniture or a passageway. In the kitchen, placed above the countertop or work bar, they provide the direct lighting needed for comfortable cooking. In the dining room, a well-planned distribution of several light points makes it possible to highlight the center of the table without installing any hanging elements.

In bedrooms, this model works especially well when installed on either side of the bed, replacing bedside lights or complementing a more diffuse general lighting. It is a practical solution in bedrooms with low ceilings, where a hanging lamp could be inconvenient. The fact that it is integrated into the ceiling frees up space and gives a greater sense of openness.

The matte white finish remains neutral in practically any combination of colors and materials. It works equally well alongside white walls as in interiors with darker tones, where the light point contrasts without the lamp itself drawing attention. It is a detail that makes these modern lights compatible with very different decorative styles: from Nordic environments to more minimalist renovations or softened industrial style.

The IP44 protection extends the range of use of this ceiling lamp. It can be installed in bathrooms, in the shower area if the ceiling allows, or in kitchens with steamy environments. Also in covered outdoor areas, such as porches or enclosed garages, as long as they are not directly exposed to rain. This versatility makes it a valid solution for different parts of the home without the need to look for different models for each space.

Using GU10 LED bulbs with this lamp allows the light tone to be adjusted according to the desired atmosphere: cool white for work areas, warm white for spaces where relaxation is sought. Current LED models offer good performance at low power, so with the maximum 8 W allowed by the design, sufficient lighting is obtained for a directed light point. It is a particularly useful type of lamp in installations with several ceiling lights or recessed fixtures distributed across the ceiling, where each point contributes its part to the whole.

Questions and answers

Does the luminaire include the GU10 LED bulb at the time of purchase?

No. The GU10 LED light source is not included and must be purchased separately. Make sure the chosen bulb does not exceed the maximum power of 8 W indicated for this lamp.

What does it mean that this lamp has IP44 protection and in which areas does it allow installation?

The IP44 rating indicates that the luminaire is protected against solid objects larger than 1 mm and against water splashes from any direction. This allows it to be installed in bathrooms, steamy kitchens, or covered porches, as long as it does not receive direct water.

Does the 89 x 89 mm square body require an exact cut-out in the ceiling?

Yes. The cut-out must match the dimensions of the lamp body so that it sits flush with the ceiling. Before cutting, verify that the interior space of the ceiling has at least 55 mm of free depth to accommodate the entire body.
