Overview

The FARO round recessed lamp is a solution designed for spaces where lighting needs to blend in discreetly. It is installed directly into the ceiling, with no visible light source — only the result is perceived: clean, well-directed light.

The die-cast aluminium body in a matte black finish gives it a solid, understated look. It does not draw attention to itself, but it defines the atmosphere of the space. It is the kind of lamp that works well in projects where design matters as much as functionality.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in lighting for both residential and commercial projects. Their products combine quality materials with a modern style and lines designed to last.

Installation and specifications

Before installing this lamp in the ceiling, a circular opening with a diameter matching that of the luminaire must be prepared. It is recommended to verify that the false ceiling or mounting surface has the necessary thickness to accommodate the rear part of the body, which measures 145 mm in height. Installation must always be carried out by a qualified electrician. It is essential to cut the power before beginning any connection. The lamp accepts voltages between 100V and 240V, making it compatible with the standard electrical grid.

For maintenance, simply clean the outer surface with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Do not use abrasive products or solvents that could damage the matte black finish. The GU10 bulb is not included and must be purchased separately. When replacing it, ensure that the wattage does not exceed 8W and that the light source is compatible with the GU10 socket.

Design and use

Die-cast aluminium is a material that combines lightness and strength. In this FARO recessed lamp, this translates into a compact body, with a diameter of 90 mm, that takes up no more ceiling space than necessary. The matte black finish avoids reflections and integrates well in both dark and white ceilings, depending on the desired effect. On light ceilings it creates a clean contrast; on dark ceilings, it almost disappears.

This type of design fits particularly well in spaces where modern lights must coexist with other elements without creating visual noise. A bedroom with an upholstered headboard, a kitchen with lacquered furniture or a dining room with a natural wood table — in all these contexts, a low-profile lamp in a neutral colour works in favour of the overall composition, not against it.

In hospitality and commercial projects, recessed modern lights are a common choice because they allow for directed illumination without the lighting equipment becoming the visual centrepiece of the space. The lamp sits flush with the ceiling and what is seen is only the effect of light on the surfaces. This is particularly useful at bar counters, service desks, waiting rooms or display areas.

For home use, the versatility of this recessed light is one of its main strengths. In bedrooms it can be placed above the reading area or as perimeter lighting, leaving the centre of the ceiling free. In the kitchen it works well above the worktop or the island. In the dining room, a composition with several recessed lights aligned above the table can replace a pendant lamp without losing impact.

In small spaces, the compact size of this lamp is a real advantage. With only 90 mm in diameter, it does not visually overwhelm the ceiling or compete with other decorative elements. It can be combined with models of the same finish or mixed with surfaces in black, graphite or earthy tones without the result feeling forced.

The modern style of the piece does not respond to a specific trend — it has no excessively ornamental lines or shapes that date quickly. It is a luminaire with a neutral formal language that works in interiors with an industrial, Nordic, contemporary or minimalist style. This ability to adapt to different environments makes it a practical option when working on projects with a defined visual identity.

Recessed lights of this type do not require frequent maintenance. Once installed, the only point of attention is the bulb, which in LED version has a long lifespan. This reduces interventions and simplifies management in projects with many light points.
