Overview

TATAWIN is a ceiling pendant lamp with a metal structure and black shade. Its line is clean, recognizable, and timeless. It is a luminaire designed for those looking for a specific and defined light source, without the lamp itself being overly eye-catching.

It works well in spaces where light needs to fall on a specific area: a dining table, a kitchen island, a reading nook. The shade directs the beam downward, making this pendant lamp a practical option for lighting without scattering.

FARO is a Spanish brand with a track record in indoor and outdoor lighting. Their products are designed to integrate into real domestic environments, with materials and finishes built to last.

Installation and specifications

To install this ceiling lamp, it is advisable to check that the anchoring point on the ceiling can support the weight of the assembly. The suspension cable is fixed directly to the ceiling using the included canopy. It is recommended that installation be carried out by an electrician, especially if it is to be integrated into an existing circuit. Before starting any work, the power must be switched off at the electrical panel. The lamp accepts voltages between 100 V and 240 V, making it compatible with the standard electrical network in Spain and Latin America.

To clean the metal shade, a soft, dry cloth is sufficient. If dust has accumulated, a slightly damp cloth can be used, without abrasive products that could affect the satin finish. Sprays should not be used directly on the lamp, and the electrical connection points should not be wetted. The E27 LED bulb is not included and must be purchased separately, respecting the indicated maximum wattage.

Design and use

The TATAWIN lamp starts from a simple concept: an oval metal shade suspended from the ceiling, with no added decorative elements. That oval shape is not a minor detail. It allows light to be projected in a concentrated and directed manner, something difficult to achieve with spherical or open shades. There is no glass, no diffuser: the light comes out direct, clean, controlled.

The body is made of steel with a satin black finish. The satin finish provides a matte texture that does not reflect ambient light, giving the pendant lamp a discreet presence even on low ceilings or in spaces with many visual elements. The black structure integrates easily with light walls, dark woods, or industrial-style furniture, without any need to reorganize the surroundings.

In the living room, a single lamp of this type above a low table or a reading area can define the space without needing to add more light sources. The oval shape of the shade draws attention downward, creating a more intimate atmosphere in that specific area.

In the kitchen, this type of pendant lamp works especially well above countertops or islands. The focal light it generates allows for clear working visibility without flooding the rest of the space with light. This is useful when other lights in the same kitchen are on at a different temperature or intensity.

In the dining room, one or several TATAWIN lamps above the table create a defined atmosphere. The oval shade concentrates light on the plates and the people seated, leaving the rest of the dining room in a soft dimness that gives character to the space without darkening it completely.

In the bedroom, it works as a bedside lamp suspended from the ceiling, freeing the nightstands from wall lights or reading lamps. The focal light does not disturb the rest of the room, making it useful when one person wants to read while the other sleeps.

It also fits well in hallways with sufficient ceiling height or in small rooms where a clear light source is needed without taking up space on walls or tables. In spaces with a modern or Nordic aesthetic, the satin black finish acts as a contrasting element against white or light wood surfaces.

The oval shade creates a recognizable silhouette reminiscent of work lights or vintage-style luminaires, but without exaggerating either of those two references. It is a lamp that does not need to justify itself within the space: it is simply there, does its job, and does not compete with the rest of the furniture.

The weight of 1.67 kg is moderate for a steel pendant lamp. It does not require special reinforcements in the ceiling, unless the surface is particularly fragile. The wiring is integrated into the structure, with no loose elements visible from below.

Questions and answers

Can the oval shade of the TATAWIN lamp be oriented, or is it fixed?

The shade has a fixed position. The design is intended to project light downward consistently, with no rotation or tilt mechanism. If the light needs to be directed in a specific direction, the position of the ceiling canopy would need to be adjusted during installation.

What type of E27 LED bulb is most suitable for this pendant lamp?

Since no light source is included, the bulb can be chosen according to preference. The maximum power is 15 W. A warm white E27 LED (2700 K) gives a more welcoming result, while a neutral white one (4000 K) is more functional for the kitchen or dining room. The important thing is not to exceed the indicated 15 W.

Does the satin black finish on the steel body hold up well in humid environments such as the bathroom?

The technical specifications do not indicate a specific IP protection rating for humidity. For this reason, in the bathroom it is recommended to install the lamp in areas away from the shower or bathtub, out of direct reach of steam. For humid areas with direct exposure, it would be necessary to consult an electrician before installation.
