Installation and specifications

Before installing the lamp, check that the anchor point on the ceiling can support the weight of the luminaire. The cable has a tension adjuster, which allows margin to adjust the horizontal position without moving the electrical installation. It is recommended that installation be carried out by a certified electrician. Always turn off the power supply before any intervention.

The papyrus shade should not be cleaned with damp cloths or chemical products. A dry cloth or a soft duster is sufficient to remove dust. The matte black steel body can be cleaned with a slightly damp cloth and dried immediately afterwards. Avoid direct impacts on the oval shade, as the material is delicate.

Design and use

The SAMBA collection has an aesthetic that does not subscribe to any particular style. The oval papyrus shade is reminiscent of organic forms, with that soft texture that diffuses light in a warm manner. It is not a harsh-light or concentrated-beam lamp, but rather a source that spreads illumination gently throughout the surrounding space.

The body is made of steel, finished in matte black. That contrast between the black of the support and the beige of the shade is what gives this luminaire its character. It is not a strident combination, but it does have presence. In a dining room, hanging above the table, it creates exactly that atmosphere of central light without the lamp itself monopolising all visual attention.

The oval shade with a 500 mm diameter covers the lower space well. In a kitchen with a central island or in a medium-sized dining room, the scale fits without the need to install multiple lights. For bedrooms with standard ceilings, the total height of 1800 mm allows the cable to be adjusted with the tension adjuster so that the lamp sits at just the right height, neither too low nor too high.

In hospitality projects, this pendant lamp works well in reception areas, rest zones or reading spaces. The combination of materials conveys warmth without losing sobriety. In a large bathroom with a high ceiling, it can also be an option if installation conditions allow, although the humidity restrictions inherent to such spaces must be taken into account.

The E27 socket is compatible with LED bulbs of up to 15 W. Although the bulb is not included, the E27 fitting is one of the most common and easiest to find. A warm-light LED bulb enhances the effect of the papyrus shade and keeps consumption low. The universal voltage between 100V and 240V makes the luminaire compatible with electrical installations in different countries.

The cable tension adjuster is not merely an aesthetic feature. In projects where the ceiling light points do not coincide with the final furniture layout, having that positioning flexibility saves time and avoids additional work. The luminaire is installed at the available electrical point and the tension adjuster allows it to be shifted to where it is needed, within the range the cable permits.

As for combinations with other interior design elements, the SAMBA palette — black and beige — is neutral and works well with light wood, white or grey surfaces, and natural materials. In a living room with simple-lined furniture and earthy tones, this pendant fits effortlessly. Complementary ambient lights can be wall sconces or LED strips to balance the room's illumination.

In a room with dark walls, the beige shade acts as a soft light point that does not break the atmosphere of the space. In lighter spaces, the contrast of the matte black body adds a touch of visual definition. It does not need much context to work well, and that is part of its usefulness.
