Overview

The FARO PLAT 7L lamp is a ceiling pendant luminaire designed for spaces where the focus falls on the bulb itself. There are no shades to cover it or distracting elements: the bulb remains visible, suspended with a clean and direct presence. It is a lamp that works well in a living room, dining room, or any room where a light source with its own character is desired without resorting to a cluttered design.

The PLAT 7L version features a multiple ceiling rose with seven light points, making it an option designed to illuminate large spaces or to create a balanced visual composition on the ceiling. It comes in two color variants that fit naturally in Scandinavian or Nordic-style interiors, where neutral finishes and unadorned lines predominate.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in indoor and outdoor lighting. Its products are found in homes, interior design projects, and commercial spaces, and are characterized by combining functionality with careful yet understated design.

Installation and specifications

Before installing the pendant lamp, it is advisable to verify that the ceiling point has an appropriate electrical box and that the electrical installation supports the type of connection. Ceiling mounting must be carried out by a qualified electrician. The suspension cable has a considerable length, so it is worth measuring the height of the space before hanging it and adjusting the length according to the desired distance to the work surface or table.

For cleaning the steel body in matte white finish, a dry or slightly damp cloth is sufficient. The use of abrasive products or solvents that could damage the finish is not recommended. The E27 LED bulb is not included and must be purchased separately. Make sure the bulb wattage does not exceed the 15 W indicated by the manufacturer.

Design and use

The PLAT 7L lamp starts from a simple idea: letting the bulb speak for itself. There is no glass globe to encase it, no oval shade to hide it, no structure to compete with it. The design is reduced to the essentials: a ceiling rose with seven suspension points, each with its cable and lamp holder. The result is a pendant lamp that occupies the ceiling without visually weighing it down.

The body is made of steel with a matte white finish. It is a material that provides solidity without adding bulk. The matte white does not reflect light specularly, which avoids unwanted glare and allows attention to be directed toward the bulb, which is exposed in all its glory. This choice of material and finish makes the lamp compatible with light-colored walls, white ceilings, and furniture in neutral tones, common in Scandinavian or Nordic-style interiors.

The seven-light version is designed for spaces where a single bulb would not be enough. A large dining room, a living room with high ceilings, an open-plan kitchen: in all these cases, the distribution of the seven light points creates balanced coverage and a visual presence that organizes the space without saturating it. It also works well in a large bedroom where a conventional ceiling lamp is to be replaced with something more distinctive.

The cable length, of up to 5000 mm, gives great freedom to adjust the installation height. In a high-ceilinged room, the lamp can be suspended at mid-height to gain prominence. In a lower ceiling, the cable can be shortened so that the luminaire sits close to the ceiling and does not interfere with movement. This flexibility makes it useful in different types of rooms, from spaces with standard ceilings to open-plan areas with greater free height.

The use of an E27 LED bulb allows control of the color temperature and light intensity according to individual preference. A visible filament bulb accentuates the character of the lamp and reinforces a warmer, more personal atmosphere. A more neutral bulb, on the other hand, produces a more functional light. The choice is left to the user, which makes this luminaire an adaptable piece for different environments.

As for compatibility with other decorative elements, the PLAT 7L lamp integrates effortlessly alongside wooden surfaces, linen or cotton textiles, and straight-lined furniture. It can also coexist with more vintage or industrial aesthetic design elements, as long as the overall ensemble maintains a restrained color palette. In a spacious bathroom with high ceilings and good ventilation, it can also be considered as a decorative lighting option, although installation in that case requires special attention to electrical regulations for damp areas.

The lamp does not include a bulb, which allows you to choose the type of light that best suits the use of each space. For the dining room or living room, a warm bulb usually works best. In the kitchen or work areas, a more neutral color temperature may be more practical.
